Holy poo poo. I work with this guy. He wears that jacket to work every day. loving weird. That's the first time anything like this has ever popped up on an internet forum where I know the person personally, not through a friend of a friend or whatever.

If it helps, he looks friendly enough. I'd be curious to know what the circumstance was with the sword though if it wasn't just a "lets do a retarded pose" thing.

...how much does being a larger person effect the handling of the bike? I mean, there's no way in the world you could lean it properly .. is there?

Handling itself? Total talking out of my rear end, probably less than you'd think. Acceleration and overall power? Somewhat, and that would be directly influenced by the blubber quotient. I am far from a small guy (and lost 20lbs in the past 2 months) but I guess if the rider is big enough for his belly to get in the way or shifting in the seat it could, but that's not "larger person" that's jabba the hut grotesque. Edit: To be clear, I'm not saying a 300lb guy can flick like someone that's 120lb. slidebite fucked around with this message at 06:45 on Feb 14, 2012 |

The biggest issue will be how the suspension is basically bottomed the entire time. Performance is much more limited by the rider than weight. The videos of the goldwings ripping up deals gap show that nicely. With properly sprung suspension, it'd be just fine.

He is a really nice guy. I know the guy is into medival stuff. He is one of those guys that dresses up in armor for renaissance fairs. He wears a pentagram medallion around his neck. He is also really intelligent, while I have never seen it he talks about all of the weird structural poo poo he makes when he goes to Burning Man every year. He just changed shifts to back-half of the week but next time I see him I'll mention I saw the picture on a forum and people from the internet were wondering the circumstances behind the photo. He'll probably get a kick out that.

The guy on the inside ran a bit wide maybe, but the on board rider should have probably backed off. If he had just given up the position it appeared that he could have dove back on the inside instead of running wide. Whatever it's racing, nobody crashed so who cares.

Sorry, I'm used to cars.. even if you come up inside, you have to be past front quarter to have right-of-way, if it was NASA he would have been flagged for that maneuver.

I've never heard of right-of-way in motorcycle racing, but it's certainly possible it exists. I think it's usually a case-by-case basis on whether someone was intentionally dangerous or had poor conduct.

The thing with bike racing that I dont get is that if someone comes into a corner inside of you, without constantly looking back, how are you supposed to know they're there? Obviously there is some solution to this because motorcycle racers arent perpetually pit maneuvering each other, but I'll be damned if I know what it is.
