Why is it so impossible to find anyone on my skill level? Everybody I fight has "Beginner" rank yet they're loving gods. I feel like if I rank up I'll fight shittier people.

If you hate hidden missiles just run Captain America on point and murder doom every time he gets called.

If you're getting blown up by Hidden Missiles, you have to go after Doom. Most players aren't that good at protecting Doom and he's out there forever. If you don't kill him, even doing a solid punish against him is sometimes enough to deter your opponent from calling him at least for a little while.

Here's the best way to deal with Hidden Missiles: Snap Doom at the beginning of the match and kill his rear end. Seriously if there is one thing I've learned as a beginner player trying to get better at this game...its that you can't just block poo poo like drones and missiles forever, especially if your character can't deal with them. Learn some mixups, and use your meter for a snapback, then go for a mixup on the incoming character. If your opponent really wants to save them for their assist, they are going to have to try to snap them back in, which either involves DHCing into someone else, or doing a raw tag, which in itself is extremely risking. Once you've got rid of your opponent's best assist character things get a lot easier on you.

While I agree this is a legitimate way to do it I think on a team dependent basis you could just murder him when he comes in as an assist. A good multi-hitting super followed by X-factor and a second, possibly a DHC to confirm the kill can be a pretty easy way to take out assists and may possibly catch the point character too.

So, I finally have this game, YAY...? I have no idea who I'm gonna play. X-23/Ammy/Doom was my first thought, or Morrigan/something/Doom, but my biggest issue with the first team is that X-23 deals literally no damage unless you have a modicum of execution, which I don't - how the HELL do you TK qcf L after a qcf L?. Morrigan/something/Doom sounds nice, and I get to be yet another annoying Ikaruga boss, but I need to figure out who will be the other character. Wesker as a safeguard comes to mind, or VJoe for even more projectile fun. Also, I'm having the same problem everyone that picks up Doom has, landing the goddamn Buktooth loop. My issue is that after the relaunch, sometimes it seems like I'm hitting the guy too high and no matter how delayed I make the j.M after ADDF, it's still too high for cr.M/H to hit. So right now I only have a BnB on the corner, since footdive loop is ridiculously easy. Day one, heh.

Morrigan takes quite a bit of execution to be effective as well, so you might want to look at leveling up your execution or picking some easier characters. I'm thinking of running a Dorm/Morrigan/Doom team because Doom helps them both quite a bit with Plasma Beam or Hidden Missiles. Dorm doesn't help Morrigan all that much, but Morrigan is Dorm's bff with the meter assist. Stalking flares everywhere.

I see why everybody picks him though, he's basically invincible. I heard Maximum Spider make contact with his face in one fight but nope, since he's Wesker his super gets to go off anyway. Spiderman apparently just phased through him. His normals apparently take priority over every other character because he's Wesker. He's the only character I know of that gets a permanent damage boost just because he's Wesker. His gun shoots bullets that are 10 feet tall and interrupt everything. Somehow his counter super can grab Hulk, who just jumped into space and grabbed a meteorite mid-flight, and then launch into a fresh combo. Taskmaster can do the same thing, I guess, but as far as I know he can't continue the combo after his counter. Every loving match.

I'm so happy Morrigan is getting love in this game. She's one of my favorite fighting game characters and she made me so sad in vanilla. Too much work for very little reward. At least now she's still work, but you actually get a reward.

I'm not a huge fan of this game per se and so I tend to skim over certain things, but I'm pretty sure that even from the perspective of a casual observer, Australia's ArnoldDesu has a loving amazing Morrigan (and his pocket Trish/Storm aren't bad either). I'm pretty sure his maze of projectiles is impossibly good. http://www.twitch.tv/ozhadou/b/309033360 His match against NefeliousG is at 2 hours 36 mins, his match against LowBlow in the winner's final is at 3 hours 4 mins, and the grand final against ToXY is at 3 hours 16 mins. He won OHNX against a pretty heavy field, beating guys like ToXY and NefeliousG (who was top 25 at EVO last year). Keep in mind, he's been playing MVC for less than a year, plays on pad, doesn't use male characters in any game he plays, and has just turned 18. Plus, every time he does something awesome, he just smiles surprisedly at himself as if he didn't know he could do it. It's infectious.

Hey guys I was bored so I made a tier list. The left/right arrangement in the tiers is random, assume all chars in a tier are roughly equal. Also I put 3 chars on the lower left corner who I think haven't been explored enough to really know how good they are.

Felicia and Strange are at least Trish-level. Other than that, I agree pretty much. Still think Viper is overrated though.

Regardless of that, it doesn't hit nearly as often as it did week 1 and it's not very difficult to stuff before it hits or punish after you block it. Calling it the best assist in the game is crazy.

Off the top of my head, Zero, Doom, Wesker, Viper, Dante, Nova, Firebrand, Deadpool, and probably Firebrand and Skrull should be able to get a full combo from a landed vajra regardless of screen positioning, with Rocket, Frank, Spencer, Haggar, Hawkeye and Iron Man able to get full combos near the corner. Given that I'm probably forgetting some, that's a huge portion of the top and high tiers able to directly benefit from this assist, and given its fast startup and lack of vulnerable frames it's not nearly as easy to punish as you make it sound. I don't think it's at all unfair to call it one of the best assists in the game.

How is half that list getting a full combo off a self-OTG at mid to full screen? Deadpool doesn't even get effective combos off a self OTG based on any positioning. It's a good assist, but not good enough to bump him above 8 extra characters in terms of usefulness on anyone's tier list and I think there's a reason why you don't see a lot of Strider anymore and even Floe is considering dropping him (and/or Nemesis).
