You can also do it separately with a skillet, yes, but a little bit of the fond gets left behind that way. I have this (the All-Clad steel stockpot) and it works great. Love it.

Wait, what's this about Staub and glass? I got a Staub, how's the enamel different?

Okay cool, I kinda regretted getting one at first because the black made it hard to see how browned my meats got, but that's pretty cool edit: also, the outside bottom got slightly chipped from wear and tear (it was a floor model at half price) but the nice thing was that they did multiple coats so under the enamel was more enamel

Fuuuck, I hate the wait that accompanies an offer on a house. The kitchen goes above and beyond the description of incredible. I'd make sweet forbidden love to both sets of the double ovens alone.

My house was built with the "Home and Gardens Dream Kitchen of 1963" with the blond wood, trim and glittery formica. The only modification that was done was when they removed the "bronze" stove and refrigerator, and left the original stove hood. Now, it was built with a recycled 1950's enameled cast-iron double sink with double draining board. Classic lines like a greek temple or a Bel-Aire with fins. The next person who suggests I replace it with a stainless will die horribly, I vow this.

I have a bunch of my mother's Club cookware, as well as some other really old pots from that era, and I'd not trade them for anything. I like my cast aluminium pots. They've all got so much character.

I had one friend who thought I should build a Shinto arch, another who wanted me to build a Stargate, and a third who thought a trilithon or a group of standing stones would be most appropriate. I I'm looking at a greenhouse and an outdoors canning kitchen.

Well one involves being shoved in a tight corridor dealing with a seemingly endless stream of slime and 'monster closets' that has a disappointing ending. The other thing is sex, so just do that instead.

I think I got it for $4. It's a good app - it has all the content of the book, and it's really well designed. You can pick out a few recipes and it will build a shopping list. It has timers built in. The recipes are as bland as ever, though.

When next there is a mod challenge, I propse chickenade. Boil one whole chicken for 30 minutes. Remove the bird and do what you want. Mix in a quarter cup of sugar and strain into a container to cool, serve over ice.
