It's that thing Bradley and Dempsey are doing until they pass it to someone else and they give the ball away.

USA defended really well towards the end of the game. They were getting in front of every single attempt.

They seemed into it to me. Just one of those games where the team dominating can't score and the other manages to convert their one opportunity.

It owns.

Dear lord we just decided to give them the ball on silver platter for the entire last 20 minutes. Thankfully we held on. A good win, certainly not historic though.

also ESPN3 went to commercial literally the second the whistle was blown. wtf.

Um, I would say it's historic considering the whole never beating them under any circumstances thing or Italy never losing in Genoa in 88 years thing.

It means quite a bit in the fact that we were able to beat a better team on their soil. But it's certainly not historic.

I agree that it doesn't mean anything on the international stage or accomplishment wise, but I think simply seeing the USA win a match against a strong team in europe is a pretty big deal for us. Friendly or no it's not like the USA will be facing many stronger sides in any competition aside from the World Cup.

It's significant but historic is not the right word. The US is a team that historically plays terrible in Europe and never performs against the best teams in the world. Friendly or not, they went to Genoa and beat Italy.
