Any twelve year old who can't access porn on the Internet has a mom who isn't going to buy them a comic book with lesbians on the cover, anyway.

You know what the shame is? I'm pretty sure that is Scott Kolins, who did the first half of Johns original Flash run. This is what it looks like when he inks himself.

Because they don't want actual porn they want to be teased with fan service and leave the rest to thier imaginations. It's a fairly common kink, just look at the sheer amount of cheesecake is in every medium.

He's been a lost cause since he left Flash. Check out his Solomon Grundy mini that he wrote in addition to drawing. It's horrible in every way.

I know this goes against everything the title of this thread stands for, but holy poo poo you guys. This is from the upcoming Grifter #9, it's drawn by Rob Liefeld, and it looks pretty loving good. I don't know what's happening anymore. EDIT: Okay, I know what's happening now, and turns out Grifter is totally not Deathstroke. I am dumb. I've never read anything written by Liefeld, but the characters he creates are abysmal. For example, he made a villain for Cable who was a generic strong dude with four arms. His brilliant name? Forearm. As if that wasn't silly enough, Liefeld took the character with him when he moved to Wildstorm. He had to make some changes for legal reasons, so Forearm changed genders and she also got an Related to this: When Cable first became a thing, you got artists who really weren't interested in drawing pouches, trying to decipher the clusterfuck that was Liefeld's art. Like in New Mutants Annual 6, where the penciler didn't realize that those thingies on Cable's back were guns:

Liefeld isn't nearly as obviously a bad writer as he is a penciller, but I can't say just how bad he is or in what ways. I just avoid whatever has his name on it as a matter of course. That said I don't think he'd be atrocious because he does have a clear reverence for superheroes and not making GBS threads all over them on purpose, but if he's anything like he is as a designer he probably doesn't really revere anything but the most superficial marketing qualities. What makes a character "badass", and that sort-of thing. Something tells me things like dramatic tension or character personality beyond what to put on their marketing tagline aren't things he knows much about, let alone is able to use well as a writer.

Liefeld as a writer completely tore apart anything the original New Mutants comic was about and turned it into Cable yelling at some people until they became as joyless as him. He also introduced more than one character that duplicated existing mutant power sets without the inconvenience of a personality. But I'm grateful to him for giving us what Shatterstar became in the current X-Factor run. Edit: And to be fair, New Mutants had gotten pretty dire by the time Liefeld took over.

Ok time to post some actual art. I've been re-reading Brubaker's run on Catwoman, and I was amazed by some of the art. The art team goes through a lot of changes, but the common denominator in all the really good issues is that Matt Hollingsworth does the colours. He sets the mood and tone for each scene incredibly well. Here's an example, with Cameron Stewart (also awesome, he is great at drawing faces) as penciller: Unfortunately the series takes a nosedive when the team is replaced by Paul Gulacy & Jimmy Palmiotti. They are both listed as artists in each issue, I'm not sure what the division of labour was, but the result is beyond terrible. Flounder faces Creepy rape faces, also her pelvis is literally a foot wider than her waist. Catwoman looks like she is wearing one of those fetish rubber suits that they suck the air out of. Her belt is missing too. Missile boobs Goggles never the same shape Ridiculous poses with no sense of movement All of the above Just... dammit.

Judging from the arms and hair, she was probably drawn naked in the tub with her immoral bits covered up in the biblical way and some editor said "Yeah, no." So a quick leather-suit limbs-redraw later, boom, weird art.
