You guys might remember I posted about working on some music of my own a while back. Well, I just released my first official thing! It's still not very industrial, but I suppose you can pick up some of those influences in there. I reckon that some people here might like it. I certainly do! You can download it for free on Bandcamp!

1. Ääniaalto
2. Maapallo (Sparsely Populated Version)
3. Ä.ä..ään.i
4. Aalto

This is a different release than the one I posted that demo version of earlier - the artwork (which is going to be amazing) is still in the works and it'll be released "at some point". Soon, I hope. I'm also already working on the next EP because, hey, I like making music.

I also made a cover version of the goddamn awesome theme of the legendary German Krimi show Ein Fall für zwei / A Case for Two (original) which you can listen to on my SoundCloud. It's dumb as hell :)

e: Also finally got around to listening to Bone Music. Twiin I think you're my new favorite band. No rear end-kissing implied, this poo poo's just right up my alley

e2: Holy poo poo a The Prisoner sample

I really like this, thanks for sharing!

DNA Lounge/Death Guild is a pain in the rear end. Primarily because it's on Monday nights and I work a 730-430 job. Also because the crowd is excessively elitist. :toot: These are good. Which music vendor gives you the biggest percentage?

one note: I like the ground loop hum bass of meltdown and the music overall, but there's something about the vocals that put me off a bit. I have a terrible vocabulary for musical technicalities, so please bear with my idiocy. It feels like they're floating above the music -- like they're overly treble-y and disconnected from the track.

Contrast that with Outworld -- I like the vocals here because there's just a bit of processing on them, but it's not overdone. They're not buried in the track, they're not cookie-monster processed to death. They work with and support the music.

Well that's enough of my horrible opinion.

CDbaby is what distributes all the music to iTunes and Amazon and the rest, so generally they do, but it depends how you set it up. I guess if your looking for wide distribution, it comes down to Tunecore or CDbaby, so that is probably what you'll want to compare..

Horrible? That's literally the most in-depth and descriptive criticism I've ever gotten on vocals. Usually it's more like "Uh vocals sound funny" or "Sounds is ok but it needs to be harder.. just like, harder". I'm still learning to get vocals it sit well, and also experimenting with writing with less fx. So your opinion is taken with high regard!

Just came back! It was loving amazing, and the setlist was partly extremely surprising - I just put it up on Setlist.fm. There were a couple of tracks I never thought I'd hear live and was very very very very pleasantly surprised. by :) I'll talk about parts of the setlist here but I don't want to spoil the most surprising cuts for you unless you really want to.

The Iron Sky soundtrack stuff the DJ played before the gig included Laibachized hip hop beats (?!) amongst other things and it sounded very cool. Very soundtrack-y, but with a Laibachian take, of course. The concert itself didn't contain any of the more soundtrack-y tracks, but had B Mashina, America and two new songs that are (I believe) the end credits piece and the song heard in some of the teasers for the movie.

As a whole the concert concentrated on their slower, more haunting and, well, artistic material, which I personally loved. Laibach isn't music to rock out to, in my opinion, and I think they should actually just drop stuff like Tanz mit Laibach altogether, because, as much as I love the song, it didn't really feel like it fit in with the rest of the setlist that well.

Also. Public announcement.

The last track on their main setlist was an all-new song, as far as I know my Laibach. Let's just... let's just say that it kicked so much fuckin rear end holy poo poo

Ministry are kinda lame now, even though I am interested in seeing FIX at some point. Anyway, Paul Barker and Ogre did a thing together.

Probably a one off collaboration. The guitars remind me of "classic Ministry" and Ogre sounds like Gary Numan covering a latter era FLA song. Honestly, I only bought it because of Barker's comment about Seasame Street lyrics but some of you might dig it.

Spoil me, man. What's the new track like? New direction again, or does it remind you to any of their other stuff?

I know what you mean about having had enough of Tanz mit Laibach live, but the reaction is always great. Personally, I think they could trade that out and keep Das Spiel ist aus, which always gives the band more improv opportunities.

After 30 years, they may very well be better than they've ever been...

It appears that it wasn't a Laibach original after all - it was apparently a cover of Serge Gainsbourg's song Love on the Beat instead. The direction... Hmm. Imagine the kind of synth sounds and programming heard in Ballad of a Thin Man and add in just a touch of the Laibach Revisited sound we've already heard live, and I'd say you have a pretty good picture of it. It definitely sounded 100% like Laibach, but they've once again done what they do best and completely recreated their sound like they've done so many times. Hope to hear some more opinions on it once other people here get to catch it live!

I'd also dig Das Spiel ist aus more than Tanz mit Laibach. I just can't get over how menacing the last chorus with the male choirs in the live version (and the alternative version found on the DSIA single) is :allears:

Hm, okay... Well, between that, Ballad of a Thin Man, and Warm Leatherette, maybe they're going cover-heavy on the new album? Ivan Novak told me they were doing a proper new album in January last year (I don't know him, I'm just an annoying nerd fan that bothered him at the bar for a few minutes), so they must be getting somewhere with that by now, surely.

DSIA should be done at every show. It's got the beats, but also the dissonant orchestral bits, and again, each performance is very different. Though the live version on the single is still my favorite. But some aspects have only got better ever since Milan decided before the Volk tour to start acting a bit like a rock star....
