I am looking for a zip folder someone posted on these forms a few years ago. They were prank calls made to people who were really computer illiterate. I remember a few of them were centered around some IRC chat room.

I'm looking for a flash (I think it was a flash), possibly from the Flash Tub (or at least by shmorky) that had a bit in it about a girl with three arms made of x-rays. I think it also had a bunch of guys in an office asking "did you get the memo?". I tried looking through the Tub archives but I can't find it.

I remember this super-long article on some site about this guy playing this complicated, in-depth sci-fi strategy video game that had just came out at the time and giving a turn-by-turn report. The only things I remember was him eventually winning by his race ascending to godhood just as the opponent started to destroy his last remaining base, and a line to the effect of "My strategy has always been to do something so stupid, and so idiotic, that nobody ever sees it coming."

Can't find the article, but this might be the turn-based game Alpha Centauri, where you can win by achieving the "ascent to transcendence" project.

Okay, here's something that someone around here ought to be able to help with. Back in 2004 there was a contest run on the SA front page called "The 2004 J-List and Something Awful Mega Kawaii Contest Prize Bucks Super-Saiyan Extravaganza!" The contest included things such as dinosaurs, tanks, the Baroness from GI Joe, anime characters and so on. When the contest ended there was a picture in the honorable mentions that I really liked that I think was called "Tankasaurus Rex in the Valley of Destiny." It showed a yellow T-rex zombie wired into a huge tank, and there were a bunch of cartoon character heads on stakes, and I *think* I remember something about a jetpack... Anyway, I found the link to the contest and the link to the winners and runners up, but the link to the honorable mentions sadly leads me to a big ol' File Not Found. Does anyone around here happen to have that picture saved somewhere, or know where I could find it? Here's the link to the contest: http://www.somethingawful.com/d/news/2004-jlist-something.php And here's the link to the winner's page: http://www.somethingawful.com/d/news/contest-winners-announced.php

He did two of them, and I can't remember which one ended with a tech victory as you described, so I'll link both. The Spectres of Agony The Spatial Hares GalCiv2 is pretty good, incidentally. I collected what I could and put it up on Mediafire in case anyone else gets curious and finds nothing but 404s. A quick guide to show what I couldn't save:

Maybe five or six years ago there was a series of scary short stories being written, with each story written by a different person. They all took place in a hotel, or an apartment of some sort, but each story was assigned a different number. I was talking to someone about the paranormal poo poo the internet writes and this came up, but neither of us could remember it at all.

A few years ago, I remember a story about really horrible bridesmaid dresses making the blog rounds. The mother-in-law had volunteered to make the dresses and they were supposed to look just like the dress from some classic(?) movie. She kept promising right up to the day of the wedding, when she showed up with only 1 dress that was a horror of cheap fabric, glue, and rickrack. The maid of honor then had to scramble all over town to come up with alternatives at the last second. If I could just remember which movie the dress was supposed to be from I'm sure I could google this in a second, but I'm drawing a blank. I wanted to show someone the picture of the horrible dress. Does anyone remember this story, or know where I could find it?

Back in '03 or '04 at the height of ebaum's world's popularity, there was an old looping flash animation in a style similar to monty python. There was some vocal noise that was pitched up followed by a regular sounding voice that said something to the effect of "oooh-hoo-hoo" and then the whole thing would repeat. For reference, it was out around the same time as Space People and gently caress, poo poo, Piss. I've searched on and off for years and can never find it. It's become something of an inside joke with a buddy of mine, and I'd love to find the video again so we can rewatch it.

I'm looking for a browser game. It's in space and you fly a spaceship to different planets and space stations trading goods, including illicit ones. It was mostly story and you had a guy in your head guiding you. It was drawn, and 2-d. I remember there being space pirates you needed to avoid or fight. You could hide behind meteors if they were shooting you. It was in beta mode at the time.

Star Wars flash animation There was this flash animation from the early 00's, about 2003/2004 or so that was a sex themed parody. There were some partially interactive parts, the most memorable was Han solo with an out of place indian accent saying "into the rear end!". It wasn't too pornographic but it was fairly nws. That's about all our fuzzy memory can recall, but it had us in stitches and we haven't been able to find it since.

So, not internet related, but hopefully someone can help me find it, but there was a series of Sesame Street books released in what I assume was the 70's, given as my sister was born in 70, and they were obviously well before my childhood in the 90's. I recall they were very 70's in that they were all dark, high contrast colors, hardcover, with white trim on all the books. There were about a dozen of them that I found when I was little that I believe were thus since sold in a yard sale. But searching "sesame street, book, 70's" in all it's various permutations has resulted in nothing. There was nothing particularly creepy about these books had you grown up in the 70's, but with almost 20 years between my sister and myself, these books gave me nightmares, and i want to repay the favor to my nephew.

I did a search on the Library Of Congress for all books with Sesame Street in the title, sorted by release date. The earliest ones I can find are around 1970, a set of about 6 of them. Titles are things like: "The Sesame Street Book of Letters", "...of Numbers", "...of Puzzlers." Etc. There might be some newer books with the same title, but I did a quick search on eBay and found some examples of the older ones that look as you describe.
