Most of the NRE cars are fully adjustable with pre-programmed boost levels, so while it may not make 1000hp all the time, it's generally only a mouse click away. He has a ton of dyno videos of different engines where he shows power output at different levels of boost. Judging by the water on the ground, I'd bet he was just going to do a burnout for the crowd. Supermods allow moveable aero, and the wings are connected to a pedal, allowing drivers to operate them like an air brake. My favourite part of listening to F1 cars is when they sound like they've topped out on a straight, and then another gear comes. Then when they get to the other end and you get 4 or 5 down shifts that you can feel in your chest.
