Get some goons to send you empty bottles from some rarer stuff, and then urinate in those bottles and fill the rest up with Natty Light or something (if you don't have enough pee). Then cap them and probably mark them somehow and wait for him to drink your pee beer. Or more likely he'll be uncomfortable that you're aging your piss and move out on his own.

Literally the best thing that happened to me today was finding a Racer 5 12 pack in my local store. It was $20 but, so worth it. I don't know if it's just me but for $5 more this stuff beats the hell out of SN Torpedo.

Across the country, Massachusetts Also got some Weihenstephan Original (lager) which was okay, tastes like a really good version of a light American lager, goes down great, but has nothing on Brooklyn Lager IMO (I guess they are kind of different). Can any Chicagoons tell me what the availability of stuff from Half Acre is like? I have a friend going to Chicago on Sunday, and he'll be coming back Monday, and he said he would be willing to pick me up some beer. I was just wondering if it was available at Binny's, or if he would have to stop in at the brewery on Monday. I'm hoping for him to pick me up a 6 pack of Alpha King, and some Daisy Cutter.

And you can get Daisy Cutter everywhere these days. Drinking a Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout right now, and I have to say this is one of the best examples I've ever had of the milk stout/cream stout style. Deep chocolate/roast flavor with a rich sweetness from the lactose, and a perfectly creamy/silky texture from the nitro carbonation and lactose. LH Milk Stout has always been an excellent beer, but this version is just sublime.

Tonight's brews, based on customer chatter this week (otherwise, tonight would've been a Cantillon night)... Terrapin Hopzilla (10.8%) Very hot DIPA. Too malty and sweet, but has potential. Great hop profile in the nose and in the taste (tasty, tasty mango), once you navigate around the malts and the booziness. Better than most of Terrapin's limited-brew offerings (what the gently caress went wrong with Moo-Hoo this year?). Brooklyn Monster Ale (10.8%) Bottled 2011, vintage is '07. Dear Brooklyn, "Monster" is a term I reserve for my own use when subjectively reviewing beers. When you use it , yourselves, you have a lot to live up to - especially with your reflective silver labeling on the bottle. Sincerely, Me. Does this beer make the cut? No. You get a ton of wonderful dark fruits and malts in the nose and then it all disappears in the flavor. There's a bit, here and there, but it's muddled. It's not complexity, it's simply a "soup" that's hard to dissect. Still a solid english BW, though, but not deserving of the title, in my opinion. For the price, however, it is a good choice. Dogfish Head Saison du Buff (6.8%) Jesus, dogfish. This is definitely one of your "off-centered" brews. Fantastic savory aroma - herbs de Provence, straight up, in the nose. Slightly spicy. I feel like there should be a Cornish game hen involved somewhere here. Definitely straying from "saison" into "gruit" territory. Very different. Would suggest pairing with appropriate dishes - definitely with poultry and pork. Maybe with salmon, if you're poaching it. Pairs perfectly with Camembert and other soft, cow's-milk-based cheeses. Would not recommend over other readily-available saisons unless you're serving the above foods. Also, looks stunning in the glass - creamy foam, luscious lacing, wonderful color. I am definitely going to save about a dozen bottles for when I host company, though. Fantastic when served with an appropriate meal, "interesting" by itself. Alright, I'm looking for a little confirmation to a horrendous experience I had with Brooklyn Lager recently. I've had it on tap and really enjoyed it, I've had it in bottles and liked it. I had it in a can last Friday and it was a mess. It was syrupy sweet with a little citrus hop character and almost no carbonation. It tasted like a Del Monte fruit cup with fresh grapefruit that had been charged up with a little CO2. Bad batch? Brooklyn doesn't have their canning line working optimally? I was drinking from the can, but I don't think that would have had such a large effect as to change a lager to a sticky, fruity, mess.

I've never understood the Zombie Dust love, especially for the cost (the gouging is terrible with that stuff). I think it's good, not great, and there's plenty of others available that are superior in my opinion.

I would happily pay the $10/6 or $35/case they charge at the brewery, but with the insane gouging in Chicago (add another couple bucks for taxes, don't forget) suddenly the $14/6 turns into almost $17/6 when you toss taxes on the pile.

Just got back from a store trying to sell me Nugget Nectar for $15 a 6 pack, I politely declined. I know it will sell at that price but I paid $12 for a 1 week old 6 pack the first time around and that was enough for me.
