Never read a word of them, just looked at the cool flipbook animation on the corners of the page. 7 year old me was very easily amused.

True story. I apparently stopped reading halfway through the series, when the books were in the 20s. The total was somewhere in the 40s with multiple spinoffs and special books. I had to read the end on wikipedia because curiousity. Rachel dies during an assault on the Yeerk mothership, which makes them leave Earth forever I guess and makes all the Animorphs celebrities. Or something. Also the Hork-Bajir are allowed to live on earth I think?

And yeah, the flipbooks kicked rear end.

Close. It ends with the Animorphs in one ship and the Yeerk leader in his Blade Ship, and then a (mentally unhinged) Jake gives the order for their ship to ram his. There was a tribe of Hork Bajir who were free from the Yeerks hiding in like a national park or something that helped out the Animporphs a few times. The last arc of the series is pretty dark in general for stuff aimed at kids, Jake being about a hair away from a mental breakdown at all times, bunch of characters getting killed.

When I'd heard the series was over, I skipped about 15 or so books just to read the last arc. Wanted to know how it ended.

Nope it ends with Jake,Tobias and Marco on a spacehip called The Rachel ramming an enemy spacehip containing an all powerful, never seen before being called The One who's assimilated Ax. A Yerk leader would of actually made sense.

This is from like 10 pages ago, but I watched the clip someone posted from the show Zoom (loved it when I was a kid) and when it got to the part where they introduce themselves I thought, "Hey that Jared guy kinda looks like the guy from Supernatural/Gilmore Girls." Then I remembered that that guys name is Jared Padalecki, it must be him! Wow, that's hilarious, it's not even on his IMDB page! I did a little googling and it turns out...the kid from the show died in 2006 in a car accident. It was a pretty bizarre conclusion to that little adventure.

Here's the video again for reference:

And a link to Jared Padalecki's IDB page for a picture of him:

I remember reading this one summer and thinking it was hilarious, because a lot of the characters and stories were ridiculously funny. Every time we had a substitute teacher, I wanted her to look like Mrs. Gorf. That's right bitchiz, I'm talking about Sideways stories from Wayside School.

I remember the 29th (I think?) floor freaked me out. The lost floor where people who got lost would be stuck in class forever? or something? And I remember the Erics, whose names (Eric Ovens, Eric Fry, and Eric Bacon) were hilarious to age 8 me. Great book.

It was the 13th floor. Once a girl had to drop off some papers on the classroom on the 13th floor, and kept going up and down between the 12th and 14th until she ran into a long-hair hippie who told her a story about a guy with long hair getting his ear cut off during a haircut. Then he hands are a strange paper bag with "something" in it and tells her to give it to a barber.

It was a very strange book series. Yet I was always disappointed at the lack of potato tattoos in the world. :sigh:

I think Video Toaster screen wipes are very campy and VERY 90s. The Video Toaster was this inexpensive hardware and software system for the Commodore Amiga that allowed allowed people to do effects to NTSC video sources on-the-fly. Because it was so cheap and so ubiquitous, these effects were everywhere on television in the 90s.
