A hat trick of games. Dopewars, that goes straight to another era. It didn't even have a nice interface when my older brother installed and forgot about it on the computer. Back when 'speed' was just a super version of 'weed', right? Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure was way more fun anyway. Or Bio Menace, or Commander Keen. Games are technically so much better now but I can't enjoy them like those little lovely .exes of yesteryear. Also this thread got me thinking about the TV show The Pretender, even though it wasn't that campy at all. Early nineties colors were something else... half of anyone at any time would be wearing three or more shades of 'very fluorescent bright'. The late nineties were pretty tame in that regard.

I guess the 90's is when I started paying attention to the world outside of my neighborhood. The 90's is when I started going to movies on my own, and started buying my own music and listening to my own radio stations, rather than just listening to what my Dad listened to. Even though I didn't really "get" it, the visuals and music were just captivating enough that my brother and I literally wore that VHS out. I haven't seen any of it since. The computer animation is of course dated, but many of the shorts were exceptional for being released in 1993 (though the quality definitely varied) and it had some fantastic designs given the limitations of the time. Still, watching now for the first time in over a decade a lot of it was pretty drat inspired and retains a lot of charm.
