Nothing's wrong. Nothing is wrong. Everything is on track.
Sold my spec B here in the northeast a week ago or so, if anyone is looking for one (or knows someone who is). http://www.autoservtilton.com/used/Subaru/2007-Subaru-Legacy-483300a40a0d0649017ad30ae08a143f.htm

I was rearended a few years ago with some light unibody damage, it was repaired w/ lifetime work warranty (carfax may show this for a bargaining chip). Rest of the car was in great shape.

I also have some parts I took off it before I sold it, if anyone's interested in those. Not optimistic anyone on here would like them, but I thought I'd offer them up here first. PM if interested, I could probably do some partial delivery on the wheels since they're expensive to ship, the rest should be mail-able.

Accessport $375
STi front strut tower brace $225 shipped
the wheels feature here: 17" Kazera's w/ older winter tires ($150)

and the grill ($100 shipped) & pair of wheels, the 18" ones below (Drag DR-33's). These will have tires on them, but you'd need to replace them. ($300) they're 5x100 w/ +45 offset.

That's true and that's what I'm trying to concentrate on, really. More sales are good, full-stop. I am (was?) a guy who really liked the LGT, so the recent changes to boring there (and redesign now) hurt more than if I could just look forward to getting an sti and forget they make anything else.

The Forester seems to have the best rear leg room, which is important since everyone in the family but her is over 6' tall, but I've heard the transmission isn't doing it any favors.
If it's the same as the 08 era Outback's, it's not great, but not as awful/distracting as the older version. I don't know too much about the tech bits of it yet, though, so someone might tell you something completely different and be able to back it up with science and things. I dreamt I was an old dog, stuck in a honeypot. It was horrifying.
I think the dropping of the 2.5GT is because Subaru doesn't want an old EJ based motor in any of their recently redesigned cars. Once a turbo FB motor is out for the WRX I'd assume it'll go into the Legacy again as well.

Alright this may be a really dumb question, but the more I look around at Subaru forums and image posts the more I see those Hella horns installed. What's the point? I guess I never saw a horn as an important upgrade point for any reason, but they seem to be pretty common.

Well in part I'd say that's because Subaru has never been known for good-looking cars, and that generation Legacy was a total fluke. It's just a fluke I hoped would mark a change of direction. Looks were always the weak spot in the otherwise decent balance between affordability, reliability, and fun that Subaru usually hits. It's just too bad that fun seems to be falling behind, at least on a micro scale. It's hard to say until the new engine redesigns start being sold, since obviously the volume versions come out first and the specialist halo sports stuff comes afterwards.

Subaru sales were on an up-trend even before the latest round of "bigger, softer and fatter" (aka toyota) redesigns, and they say the new Impreza is a better car than the old Impreza in every way, including handling, so things aren't all bad. It certainly looks better, and they managed to cut weight, so both of these are good things. I'm not a fan of the movement to tiny engines, of course, but what are you going to do? The BRZ also shows that Subaru's engineering team knows what it's doing. As with any car company, it's the management team you have to worry about.

So long as Subaru sticks with the boxer engine design, they'll have a design advantage in that they can design in a lower hood since the engine is flatter. I just hope they take advantage of this because I hate enormous bulbous front ends and giant ugly headlights. Also, the flat-six is due for an update. It might get dropped, but who knows?

I fail to see the point as well. Further detracting from the overall look of that wagon is the missing grill.

Now I do admit, the horns found in most little Japanese autos leaves some to be desired. I've addressed that by installing some horns from the Tribeca, albeit they are black, and according to NASIOC rules, must be inferior.

So I finally got around to investigating my driver's side rubbing/vibration that cropped up a week ago. I was going to swap on one of my other wheels to see if the tire was the issue.

It was then that I discovered that over half the lug nuts I could spin off with only my fingers. There's the source of my vibration. Never have I had the lug nuts back off on me like that before. Ever time I swap tires I make sure to torque them down with a torque wrench and then do again a week later. Somehow though, these managed to back off.

Oh well, I guess I'm glad there's nothing actually wrong with the car itself.

The pressure was not fine, it was pegged high on the low pressure side, that's very peculiar. My car was at 38psi, yours was reading over 150.

To me this means the expansion valve has failed and you are getting full pressure through the whole system. I am not a AC diagnostic master though!

Expansion valve failure is pretty common in our cars. My '02 is failed right now.

In my case though, the AC compressor kicks on, but I have a hiss under the dash.

What I'm trying to figure out is why the OEM part is ~$100 and all the other non-oem parts are around $17. I mean, I understand cheap knockoff parts being cheap, but not usually by a factor of 5. I just wonder how reliable one of these cheap valves are or if it's going to stick in a year and cause me to have to fix it again.

Thinking about selling my 03 G35 with 33k miles and trying to pick up a Forester XT.

Boring car E/N backstory: before the G35 I had a Mazdaspeed MX5 and a Jeep. I love the Infiniti and it was sort of a dream car for a long time, but now that I have it, I keep wishing that I had a truck too. I'd been considering selling it, buying a Cherokee for $3k, and then just pocketing a bunch of cash, but I know I'll be wanting a more normal car again within 6 months and I don't want to go back to the two vehicle thing. The Infiniti was an attempt to consolidate into something really nice that'd be relatively practical (like the jeep) while fun to drive (like the miata) and comfortable in longer trips (which neither of the others really were). Honestly, it's way nicer than I need and I'd rather have the money I'm putting into its loan towards other things. That, and it doesn't actually hold THAT much more than the Miata.

Thing is, I bought the G35 less than a year ago. It seems ridiculous to sell such a nice car in favor of something older and less nice (the G35 is immaculate, the PO never even had it out in the rain.) If I do sell it, I may not have a car this nice again for a very, very long time. I sold the other vehicles and got this without thinking about it too much as I knew the G35 would sell quickly, so I don't want to make another rash decision.

I owe a bit less than $5000 on the G35 right now and I'm hoping to sell if for around $15k (which may be optimistic.) *If* I can find a somewhat higher mileage Forester XT manual it looks like they're going for $10-$12k. Ideally I'd sell the G35 for $15k, find a 5 speed XT for $10k, and pay off most of my loan.

Is this a good idea? Anything I should know about the XTs before I start my search? I know that timing belt, water pump, etc. need to be changed around 90k. I'd love to hear any general impressions on the vehicle as well. I've driven regular Foresters but never the XT.

After searching through probably 40 dealer websites for a 2012 Impreza 2.0i 5dr Manual (hopefully in Obsidian Black Pearl), I found the one. A short flight and then a ~550 mile drive later I will be home with this car on Saturday. I'm buying the base model but I know I want to buy at least some upgrades now (floor mats) and probably others down the road (aftermarket head unit). I'm not looking for performance upgrades and beyond maybe a leather wrapped shifter I don't have any visual changes in mind. With all that said, are there any recommended options?

For a simpler question, is the MySubaru e-store the best place to purchase those items? I'm in Tennessee if that matters.

Thanks. Yeah I think mainly it was because I wanted a manual and secondarily it was because I didn't want to pay for the price bump into Premium territory. Getting my color choice narrowed it down even further of course. For an example on the manual transmission thing, the largest volume Subaru dealer in the US had 27 Imprezas listed when I checked, 25 were CVT.

Unfortunately with my internet searching and with my Dad having a Costco membership I never came across this. Having already put down a deposit on an agreed price I don't think I can change it up now.

Re: Accessories/Upgrades
I did some price comparisons between parts.subaru.com and subarupartswearhouse.com, the latter comes in about 5% cheaper. I haven't looked at shipping prices yet though so possibly that could make a difference.
