I'm working in the town where I went to high school, lived in my whole life, and where my entire family lives (including extended family). Just ran into a partner who did my screener at a networking thing and she told me the same thing in a more roundabout way.

It's so bizarre. The huge firm meltdown caused by investment bank hemorrhaging should have resulted in totally kickin trickle down of talent but so many small firms seem so distrustful of the "top" law "schools"

A partner at a firm I interviewed at unironically asked me if I just wanted to spend a fun summer in Atlanta before going to NY when I graduated or if I was actually interested in staying in Atlanta. I guess my answer was unpersuasive because I didn't get an offer.

Strangers on the internet I passed the Illinois bar! And to think six months ago I was worried about getting eaten by bears in Missouri. Now all I want to do is take bar exams, because everybody talks about how time-consuming and hard they are and I get to be like "yeah man gotta study" and then get to go home and drink all day and call of duty run on sentences. Baruch Obamawitz posted:My wife wants to take a patent bar study course. Any recommendations? I bought the PRG materials used on ebay for $1200 and didn't really use them a whole lot. The books included lots of practice problems which I did use, textual materials which I basically didn't, and a video which I couldn't get through the first segment because I couldn't stand watching a talking head reading the textbook I already had. The most useful tool when I took the exams in 2008 was the 3 practice exams from like 2001 that were posted on the PTO website. By the time I got to the real exam, there were questions that I had answered incorrectly 3 times on the practice exams, but just checked 'b' because I had memorized the fact pattern by that point. That was worth like 30 free points when I actually went in. The other good thing about the practice exams is you can see if you are making patterns of mistakes. I saw I was messing up problems that included the word 'not' more regularly than others so I took measures in setting up to prevent those types of mistakes. This ended up being worth 4-6 points between the 2 practice exams I implemented this on. The other thing to learn is specifically how you can search the MPEP under test conditions. You can only search 1 section of the mpep at a time, and the software is equivalent to adobe acrobat 5.6 or something.
