Saw Maceo Plex cats and dogs and eats everything last night. I was really messed up but I'm pretty sure it was all his maetrik stuff, barely any house. Techno? More like ..... tech yes heh heh. Either way, was totally great all night long. Quincy Smallvoice posted:Anyone down with that new beatport DJ thing? I have two invites left! Whats the beatport DJ thing? Someone talk me out of going to see M_nus at Space next Friday. I need to wake up early for Get Lost but the lineup is just TOO GOOD. This could easily go on the UK Bass thread but GODDAMN, needs exposure: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Malmj7jO_u8 Weaponized Cum fucked around with this message at 21:57 on Mar 16, 2012 |

Actually we did beat you to it with that one! It's already been in the UK Bass thread. It (and the first Saigon single actually) were in one of my recent Friday release roundups from a few weeks ago and we talked about it a wee bit too if I remember right. I think most people preferred the first release slightly better (the one with Funky Steppa on it), but they're both great. Saigon is fast becoming a real label to watch.

Heartthrob from M_nus will release this on Hot Creations https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAqP_-ZtxYg Will they focus on a more Techno oriented sound? I personally wouldn't mind that. This vocal 'feel good' House (also referred to as Homo House ) is getting old... Another new release on Nick Curly's Label, Cecille. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCVv8MVxAvQ Saw Nick Curly right before new years and he threw one of the sickest Tech House sets I've had the pleasure of witnessing, so many mind-bending tracks. Yes, I was wasted.

I'm just wondering if he's been more consistent because I recall seeing him a few times between 95 and 01 and he would either be mix like it was his first time or become a wizard behind the wheels. He really seemed hit or miss. Either way I'm jealous.

Ok, this thread is way too Ibiza/UK/Mainstream for my liking. Have some cool stuff: http://soundcloud.com/petervanhoesen/peter-van-hoesen-at-berghain This is a set by Peter Van Hoesen (a pretty legit guy who does some cool stuff) at the best place in the world for techno, Berghain. He's got EBM and some Acid-y stuff in there as well. Here's a pretty awesome song from EQD, better known as Shed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpEZL436hXY

Weaponized Cum posted:Well, look at this cool guy! Yeah, but "berghain techno" is becoming super prevalent these days, as not only do the residents play everywhere, but a lot of big name Berlin DJs jumped onto that sound a few years ago. It seems like every few years Berlin/German techno gets stuck in a stylistic rut for a bit, it was that way in the early 2000s with "big room" tresor style sounds. I feel it was really Ostgut/Berghain (with Shed, Marcell Dettmann and Ben Klock) who got it going somewhere interesting again, but for the last bit it seems that what was big in 2008/9 is still what's big, and we need another push forward.

Orbital, who didn't produce a new album in April call Wonky. I find it lackluster, the only song I really like is Beelzedub. Except of this all the song a pretty much forgettable which is a same. edit: I should have reread my post. It should have been: This April Orbital finally produce a brand new album. Absent for the last few years they finally reunited and produce new tracks. Sadly, I found the whole thing disappointing. The first song is the same as Are we there? And the other ones are forgettable until Beelzedub. I like it that song in particular because it has that rough sound that I love, like planet of the shape, satan or meltdown.
