'84 Honda Interceptor, needs carb synching and probably a tune-up. Maybe titled. Who knows? Asking $800.

Worth the hassle?
Iirc these bikes (the baby ceptor?) are a little odd , over engineered and just complicated. That being said I'd snatch it up in a second if I was in the buying mode. As long as it had a title.

Look for an 86'+ model, the previous ones before the revision had oiling issues. Additionally ask if this one has had the oil mods done to make it reliable.

I paid about 1/13th as much for my cb360t and mine doesn't have timing chain issues.

This on the other hand might be worth it, if it is properly done:

quote:

Here's what I've got into it so far:

- Airtech CR750 body work
- Clip-ons
- Braided front brake line
- New fork seals
- DYNA Electric ignition (replaced the points system)
- Spoked wheels, brand new period correct tires (of note, the CB750F1 rear spoked hub with disc brake is a hard to find item)
- New plugs
- MAC 4 into 1 exhaust
- New battery
- Replaced fork fluid
- New "café racer" gauge faces
- Too many assorted bits and pieces replaced/restored along the way
- KN air filters (I'll include them, I put the stock airbox back on for now)
- New accelerator pump
- Tapered roller bearings (replaced ball bearing in head stock)

Extras:
- Still have the comstar wheels with good rubber left; and box full of brake parts, if you want to go back to the dual front disc set up
- Spare set of front forks, slightly pitted

The fiberglass tank needs to be re-coated on the inside. I coated it with a resin as recommended by airtech, to keep the gas from eating away at the fiberglass tank, but for some reason, this past winter the resin delaminated off the inside while the tank was drained.

If you're looking at this ad, then you're no doubt an enthusiast and you probably already have a garage full of bikes. If so, then you're the person I'm looking for, since ultimately, I'm more interested in trading this almost done project for a running sport-tourer. I'm really looking for an older Honda ST1100 or Honda VFR 800; Kawi Concours (older one); Ducati ST3-4 or multistada; or just something of similar size with panniers. Alternatively, I'd dig a Ural Sidecar rig too.

I'm probably in for close to $5000 for all the work put into this bike, but I'd sell it for $4000; or trade for a running sport-tourer.

Email me a phone number to contact you at if interested.

ah... looks like it might have been redone recently and that list of parts isn't exactly impressive. so unless he paid $3700 for the bike originally, I doubt he's in it for over $5000

Up for sale is my SV...I bought it last spring, and now I want to upgrade to an FZ1.

Good:
Full Leo Vince exhaust
Frame sliders
Bar end mirrors (I don't have the stock ones)
Flush blinkers
Undertail kit
Smoked Windscreen
Custom gel/memory foam seat (paid$150)
Comes with a helmet
Clean title (I own it)

Bad:
Previous owner dropped it (in the picture)
Could probably use a new chain and rear tire (new tire included)

Decent price for a SV650 that isn't the standard blue. It has been dropped though. You can probably talk him down.

Sounds like a stuck float needle. Carb clean isn't too bad on a thumper. Though when they have overfueling like that, it can dilute the engine oil and that's bad news. Ask if they've been riding it.

I'm assuming the float is sticking, so the carb just needs to be cleaned (fuel running out of overflow hose when fuel is turned on). Not hard to do, just takes time getting to everything. The fork seals are a little of an ordeal, but nothing too crazy. I think $3200 would be more fair, at least for a counter offer. It is clean though. Ask when the last valve check was done.

=RING-A-DING-DING! My 1974 Yamaha RD-350 project is for sale. I rode this thing back in the early 90s and had plenty of fun with it before deciding to try and restore it a bit. I got busy with other things and before I knew it, I had another unfinished project on my hands. The motor turns over fine, but hasn't been run since about 10 years ago. It ran, shifted, stopped, turned and rode fine before I started trying to make it better. It is missing a few bits and pieces like the seat & battery. I have the original pipes for it as well as a set of DG performance expansion chambers. The tires are "new," but old. I rebuilt the forks, but the outer boots are dry rotted.

I was thinking of parting it out on ebay, but I figured I'd try selling it complete here first. I've got a clean, clear, NJ title in my name.
