I paid about 1/13th as much for my cb360t and mine doesn't have timing chain issues. This on the other hand might be worth it, if it is properly done: quote:Here's what I've got into it so far: ah... looks like it might have been redone recently and that list of parts isn't exactly impressive. so unless he paid $3700 for the bike originally, I doubt he's in it for over $5000

Well he said "true survivor of the 'chopper revolution'", whatever that is, which I think is implying that it was built that way back in the 80s? and has been in that condition since. Whatever your taste, someone definitely spent a lot of time and effort making it. Gotta say that is about the ugliest seat I have ever, ever seen. And does it even have a front brake?

What do you guys have to say about this one: http://jacksonville.craigslist.org/mcy/2934969970.html It says new plastics and has an overfueling issue, any way that could be related to it having been laid down or something sinister? I figure I could talk it down a little.

Sounds like a stuck float needle. Carb clean isn't too bad on a thumper. Though when they have overfueling like that, it can dilute the engine oil and that's bad news. Ask if they've been riding it.

I don't think I've seen this mentioned here, but if you're trying to find good deals on CL, search for either "baby" (I've a baby on the way and have to sell, etc.) or "moving."

Jack Black posted:What do you guys have to say about this one: I'm assuming the float is sticking, so the carb just needs to be cleaned (fuel running out of overflow hose when fuel is turned on). Not hard to do, just takes time getting to everything. The fork seals are a little of an ordeal, but nothing too crazy. I think $3200 would be more fair, at least for a counter offer. It is clean though. Ask when the last valve check was done.

Just how bad of an idea is this?: http://allentown.craigslist.org/mcy/2981986491.html quote:=RING-A-DING-DING! My 1974 Yamaha RD-350 project is for sale. I rode this thing back in the early 90s and had plenty of fun with it before deciding to try and restore it a bit. I got busy with other things and before I knew it, I had another unfinished project on my hands. The motor turns over fine, but hasn't been run since about 10 years ago. It ran, shifted, stopped, turned and rode fine before I started trying to make it better. It is missing a few bits and pieces like the seat & battery. I have the original pipes for it as well as a set of DG performance expansion chambers. The tires are "new," but old. I rebuilt the forks, but the outer boots are dry rotted.
