Well it sounds like Washington is becoming the place to be in the states for bass. Anyway everyone's favourite ghetto princess Mz Bratt is back with a morality tale to remind us just what terrible people West Ham fans really are. Or it's just a new music video or whatever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r94vgC4z8o4 More breaks for the lovers. Like I said I think it's gonna be the flavour of the summer.

Denver and Houston both deserve huge props too. That Deep Medi celebration in Denver sounded pretty ridiculous, and if you recall those lineups that Gritsy has put together in Houston, they even got more press attention. Very excited to see more and more growth in the U.S.

I doubt I'll be able to make it to the Silkie show tho, thanks to Metro being my only mode of transport and it closing at midnight on weeknights (thus I'd have to miss Silkie's set just to make it back home in time). I fully plan on being at the free J:Kenzo show.

You just need to be more hardcore! Surely any dance is gonna go on until the wee hours? You'll either be out by the time any trains or buses start (well more or less, that spare hour is where you smuggle out a bottle of something and get extra pished in the nearest park) or if your town follows Glasgow's example and kicks you out at 3am, after party. There's always an after party, even if it's less of a party and more a half dozen of you huddled in a shitey kitchen in a nearby flat, polishing off the last dregs of a bottle of cheap cider and listening to whatever Soul Jazz compilation is first at hand.

Also, me personally, I'm not an after-party person. But that might just because I'm crankier now. Two Beans, you should post on the Facebook group (the DC Bass Music one), maybe find a ride home. I'm going to the Moombahton Massive event on Wednesday probably, and then the Distal & DFRNT party on Thursday, but then I'm out of town for a wedding until Sunday. Might make it to see J:Kenzo. Also I had a new dnb track just picked up for the Festival compilation CD, was happy (and surprised) to get the news today.

I became an after party person simply because getting money out of me is tougher than prying that gun out of Charlton Heston's cold dead hands. I learned it was far cheaper to stay up or doss on a mates couch for a couple hours and get the first train home than pay actual money for a taxi. Sadly life got a lot harder since they put barriers up on the station. gently caress you First Scotrail you ain't getting my money if I can help it. Actually whenever we went down to London for a day that's sometimes what we'd do. We'd just stay up! In on the morning, do stuff/record shopping in the afternoon, out on the dancefloor all night, Brixton McDs breakfast when lights come on and back on the train/plane home next morning. Pure knackered but sooo worth it. Of course the real hardcore massive walk home. I've done that 4-5 mile walk once or twice and hopefully never again. I'm too old and way too unfit to get a chase off some wee young team on a cold, drizzley Saturday night. And good news on the compilation, remember to send 'em the bill asking for the royalties!

I am a huge fan of that location now and was really impressed with the precision and output of the system when 2562 played. Plus $5 DC Brau pale ale on tap was great. Yeah it's been out for a week or two, but now you've tempted me to pick up the album just for that. I've only really heard the singles/watched the videos. Last Time gets some serious points off for having a video that looks like an Eiffel 65 video from over a decade ago. You'd think being signed to Simon Cowell's label would let them afford some better cgi. Though in all that vain I've definitely been liking that new Rita Ora song, RIP, which coincidentally features Tinie Tempah too. It's definitely one of my favourite signing loud in the car/shower/when nobody else is within 50 miles of me songs. Wait, I mean I totally don't do that, nope not at all, not one bit. I was pretty proud of myself too when I first heard it I went,"hey this sounds like it should be a Rihanna song" turns it it should've been a Rihanna song. Actually to be honest I figure that's what they were pushing for her anyway, like a low budget British version of Rihanna. I can dig it though, nothing sexier than cheap if you ask me.

So what's the deal with Trap exactly? I've only heard a couple tracks labeled as such and have generally enjoyed them all, more so than most of the footwork I've listened to, though they don't seem to be all that different by definition. Is it something that's just been starting to develop the past couple years or has it and the like just been below the radar for longer?
