I'm pretty sure WeatherBug and The Weather Channel both do live tiles, but the Weather Channel one appears to deactivate itself every so often if you don't use the app for long periods of time, which seems like a really backwards policy. It DOES flip back and forth between the standard temperature / simple weather image deal and a weather map, which is pretty cool.

I have not had any problems with the Weather Channel app. In fact, I am a huge fan because it will feature the current doppler radar map in the live tile focused on where I am. Living in the Seattle area where rain is common but inconsistent, this is awesome for me to get a quick glance to see what's coming.

I use it as well, but I wish the live tile would cycle a little faster. I feel like it takes a little too long to turn over to the radar. I can pretty much open the app and swipe over to the radar in the same amount of time.

The reviews of people complaining that there is "too much stuff on screen" have me scratching my head however. People have really forgotten about bullet hell shumps :(

Anyone here like tactical boardgames? I've been working with a friend on one for the last couple months, and it's finally ready for feedback. It's a pretty basic version, but we'll be updating it as fast as possible.

If you'd be interested in helping beta test, pm me your phone's linked live id (I have to whitelist people to be able to download the beta) and I'll provide a link as soon as the download is available (I just submitted to the beta process, so it'll take a little while to show up). If you don't have pms or you have an unlocked phone and would prefer the xap to test, you can also email me at james@dreamnautstudios.com

Some pictures!

Did you try to beat each level on hard without losing any lives? I probably spent 20+ hours trying to figure each one out. Each level has a different strategy and it's almost like a puzzle trying to figure out what works.

I played through, and beat every level, then went back and did this on the hardest difficulty. It was a fantastic time waster, but I found that eventually, you just spam shock towers and missile turrets once you get the cash rolling in to win. I haven't touched it since and i've been obsessively playing solitaire.

I was thinking about doing a playthrough with only lasers or only sniper towers, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Anyone else having problems with AppFlow? It just won't load any online content for me. I'm thinking it could have to do with my region (Finland). Changing the assigned region did nothing but I didn't really expect it to.

To the folks that were talking about weather apps not that long ago, the AppFlow guy recently put out a weather app. Not surprisingly it's called Weather Flow. It's pretty slick and worth checking out (not free though). My favorite part right now is the live tile that tells me straight out whether or not I should leave home with an umbrella in hand.

The new version of the Microsoft weather app is also awesome ever since they updated it a few weeks ago with live tile support. It's the fastest weather app I've used and is is really clean.

I haven't played the game, but while the first gen phones all have 1 Ghz CPUs that are still pretty snappy, they use a slower GPU than newer phones. This was mentioned here when the HTC radar came out last year (http://wmpoweruser.com/a-new-reason-to-upgrade-your-phone-fluid-scrolling/)

I also have a focus, it does slow down a bit when you reveal more of the map and there's a lot of things going on.

I do wish there was a way to delete/sell off old units, but apparently that was missing on the ios version, so we get to inherit that.

I played the Civ trial and it's kind of fun. I'm not sure how much you're supposed to micromanage the gatherers for your city (or how to get more), but I think I might purchase it.

I definitely like the Try It in the Marketplace because, much like iOS, most of the apps are god drat garbage.

Just wanted to say to people that have used official Microsoft apps in the past, the Weather and Translator apps have been updated recently. New icons and everything. Really impressed by both apps, especially the translator, as it is really shiny now.

The weather app's live tile is the best I have seen. Updates constantly, never have a problem. Usually the live tile is updated before I actually go into the app its self, which takes a few seconds to update the temperature.

I do really like the new translator app, but as sad as this sounds, the weather app live tile is just too boring for me. App itself is very speedy and simple though.

Not really an 'oh well' moment, considering their given reasoning that Mango doesn't offer push fast enough. Tango seems to do just fine, and this frankly pretty terrible app is costing me an additional chunk of money per month to have calls forwarded to my mobile number.

One of the reasons I bought into WP7 was the forthcoming Skype integration, and this still feels like nothing more than the most basic token gesture.
