This is exactly what I enjoyed about it, he kind of skirted the line between absurd/pitiful and horrifying in a surprisingly brave way. I wish the whole programme had lived up to that.

It's so middle of the road I fear that the guests are about to get hit by a twelve-wheeled articulated lorry at any moment, which considering they include Germaine Greer and Louis Walsh would be a great result for humanity (as long as Clive Anderson can pull himself free from the wreckage).

I quite liked the other two episodes in a very having-something-on-in-the-background kinda way. But oh my god, I lasted thirty seconds before I wanted to destroy all of the guests on the new episode...

Yeah Clive Anderson, a mediocre talkshow host is clearly of greater value to society than Germaine Greer, someone with actual intelligence/expertise/character.

Anyone seen any of that Morgan Spurlock programme on Sky Atlantic? The concept of him examining British culture sounded quite interesting although some of the guests have put me off wanting to watch it (Andi Osho and Ruby Wax for starters).

Haven't seen it, but the concept puts me off a bit. Same reason I don't really like Reginald D. Hunter, really. "My culture is different to yours" is fairly played out. It can be done well, but it usually just comes off like "white people drive cars like this" sort of jokes.

Did anyone see Spurlock's film about product placement. Been meaning to check it out, but haven't gotten around to it. Not a huge fan of the "comedy documentary" in general though and didn't like his McDonald's film.

I tried watching one episode all about Love and it was terrible. Full of lazy generalisations and contrived differences. And I hated the Pavlovian audience that seemed to laugh at anything.
