Haha, oh man. I find it pretty funny in retrospect, because the entire message of that song is that you slave away at your job during the week and get to chill on weekends. Except that it's targeted at kids. Kids get to spend their days loving playing sports and instruments and watching Bill Nye and then head over to their friend's house after school to play some Goldeneye or Twisted Metal.

The NES game of this is actually pretty loving dope.

I think I dropped $40-$50 of my little kid money on that pile of poo poo only to spend a lot of time wandering around in a desert. It came with a cheat sheet guide that had that red see-through plastic overlay that let you read the answers to her nonsensical puzzles but I must have thrown it out so as to better enjoy the masterpiece. I should have gone with Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine or something.

I seem to remember back in the '90s (or very early 2000) when the Rugrats or other Nickelodeon cartoons had a deal where if you went out and got this pair of cheapo 3D glasses from the packaging of some food item (I'm thinking Doritos or some sort of snack food), you could watch Rugrats/other Nick cartoon episode in 3D. I seem to remember it being a HUGE deal, too. Anyone else remember this?

There was something similar to this in Australia. My family had pay TV (aka cable) with Nickelodeon and I would receive newsletters from them. I got 3-D glasses once for an event where certain shows had scenes of 3D for about a month. The also had Smellivision where you had to scratch a certain panel for a certain scene on TV from a booklet that you received from the mail.

I remember this. I got it in Honeycomb cereal, I think the other cereals by the same company had the glasses as well. I think this was in 1999 or 2000. Nickelodeon made it a huge deal at the time, but I remember being pretty disappointed by that episode of Rugrats.

They did this in the early 1990s for some shows on the Fox network one night. 3D glasses and these scratch and sniff cards that you use at certain points in the shows. I'm not sure if The Simpsons did it but I'm pretty sure Married...With Children did.

People are under a lot of stress, Bradley.
I've asked about this in 90s threads before, and on other forums, but it's something I truly cannot find any evidence of, but am positive they existed. They were "Donna Reed" snack bars - Donna Reed as in the 50s/60s sitcom, which was airing on Nick at Nite at the time. They were your standard breakfast/granola snack bar, with bits of dried fruit and the drizzled icing. They were probably made by General Mills or Kelloggs. I remember seeing the commercial for them, and I vividly remember picking them off the shelf at the grocery store, so I'm positive they exited. Even at the time I found it strange that a 60's black and white sitcom was used to promote snack bars. Anyone else remember these?

If memory serves me right they changed hosts too. The woman in this video was I believe the second host, but I forgot her name and the name of the first host. I do, however, remember that there was a character named Manny The Uncanny and he was pretty loving hilarious. Also there was an elephant named Jellyroll and people would write to him, and he'd participate in a segment called "How Much Stuff Could An Elephant Crush?"

My parents NEVER got cable when I was a kid because it was expensive, so I always felt bad that I never got to see Nickelodeon much (and then when Toonami went off the air I felt bad that I missed out on that).
