Is there a trick to killing seagulls as a fighter? I swear I killed a few while I was on my way to the encampment, but when I got there I got a quest to hunt them and now it's like they know and they fly away before I can do anything.

Actually after the first encounter I quit back to main menu to see if I changed language or something by accident but there was no such option. So I just went back, and in the first house you find yourself in, more Spanish, but then all the sudden he switched to English by the 3rd thing he said, I had no idea what to make of that. I even though the game might of somehow gotten that language option from Fifa, since I play that with Spanish or French, whichever fancy strikes me, kind of a cute bug though. That's not a bug

Game's really great, but goddamn is it jarring to be cleaning out like 12 bandits and then billion HP bandit rolls up on you and just impales you on his sword, leaving you staring at your TV with a twitching eyebrow. It's too bad about the magic knight shields being so comically big.

Nuts, I want to be knocking around with this game instead of working. Even if I'm just wasting time running up and down a beach trying to stab seagulls, it's fun! Does anyone on 360 have a healing pawn I can borrow? Vivi is really nice for damage but I'm kind of getting my rear end kicked.

Ok, that's just really killed my drive for this game: I can ignore one of my pawns disappearing so I have to 3v2 two ogres, one armoured. Still came out on top. After that, I ran around and got an ambush quest, and suddenly a giant purple earth golem appears. It takes me literally half an hour to kill, and despite the crappy loot, I'm pleased with myself. I venture onwards and find a chimera. We duke it out, but then the chimera leaps about spazzily and takes me out. Fair enough, I think. I'll just head to the town when I come back. Unfortunately, I'm not spawned at the place I killed the golem. I'm at the last place I saved, which was grand soren.

Somehow my friend managed to kill one when I was playing with my cat, he said he just kind of strolled up to it and beat it to death. That fuckin' bandit castle near the starting area is insane. I'm level 22 and just getting demolished over and over. Humans are OP

Only from your main pawn, I would think. But I assume that means if people do it then when you hire them they'll end up like that. Would be a nice perk.

Yes, your main pawn gets sent to others in the exact state it was when you slept at an inn.

Anyone else who's at the endgame, can you give me some pointers? I just beat The Elysian. I can tell already that "The Final Battle" quest leads to post-game content, but I seem to be missing a lot of stuff. "Nameless Terror" with Beware of Ambush is still going. I can't go past the gate in the arena at the Frontier Caverns it just says "enemies are close", I don't know how I get into the Blighted Manse. There is the lever for area right down from the boss battle at Bluemoon Tower that I couldn't find. So obviously I've got a lot to do, but is most of this stuff done after "the final boss" or what? I really wish I could get all the pawns to shut the hell up. Everything they say is just worthless. Most of the time it's like leading a bunch of retards around, the world is a constant source of wonder and amazement for them and they have the memory of a goldfish. They should remember that we've been over that bridge and they don't need to comment on it anymore. Or that we've found out that goblins are flammable. Or when we leave Gran Soren and they wonder aloud what that huge building behind us is. Maybe I'll make my pawn look really old so she can at least have an excuse for acting like she has senile dementia. Other then that and maybe the travel time, I love this game so much!

Hey guys, not sure if anyone else has found this out yet...but just wanted to share that you can eliminate 99% of the screen tearing and graphical issues on the xbox 360 by changing your resolution to 720p (I assume this should also work for PS3). I did this last night and it now runs like a normal game! With this fixed, I have absolutely no more complaints about this awesome game!

Dunno if it's the one you're talking about it. But I found one in a chest in the female thieves den that's SE of the Great Wall. I got the impression that if I'd been female I could've put it on and had a conversation with the female head thief for one of the quests I was on (Honor among thieves I think.) At least that's what one of my rented pawns said. Speaking of which I was on that quest last night. Finally made it to where I was going for the quest and then suddenly I realize it's dark. The "oh gently caress!" realization in my head was hilarious. I figure I'm too far away from Gran Soren to back track. So keep heading NW through new territory, dodging hobgoblins, undead mage packs, chimera's, and phantasm spirits or whatever. At one point I'm running my rear end off, and turn around for just a second to see one of my pawns literally get dragged down into a shadow in the ground, screaming, "THE DARKNESS!" Then I hear children's laughter, all around me, which scares the poo poo out of me because it's like 1 am here. So, I'm basically just inching my way along saving every time I manage to avoid a fight and make progress, until I finally make it to this little fort. And the guy there says something like "heh, it's rough out there, huh?" -Blackadder- fucked around with this message at 17:49 on May 24, 2012 |

Man, I love the advice pawns give you. While being attacked by a group of like 20 wolves I get "Don't let them bite you!" and "Wolves travel in packs!" I don't mind them talking when it's brilliant advice like that, or when I borrowed DrNutt's pawn and she barreled off into the Witchwood yelling about how she knew the way since she'd been there before.

When I'm doing a quest that a pawn has already done before though, their advice becomes awesome, I think that's what they really had in mind with the pawn conversation system. I come to a locked door and the pawn is like "oh yeah I know where the key is, follow me". It's like playing an RPG with a friend who knows the game better than you, like I used to do when I was a kid.

Took a step back and decided to go back to the start of the game and quest around that place. It was a good idea! Even when I jumped in the well and there were lizardmen down there for... some... odd reason, they weren't so ungodly strong that I stood no chance. Also? Making my snot-nosed pawn smarter about quests seemed like a good idea. But oh man, I want to punch that dumbass who keeps running off, collapsing, and demanding herbs from me. He's voiced by Vic Mignogna too, so his voice is extra douchey. He's run off to Witchwood, which is where the bandits from hell live. So I'll wait a while on going there if I can. Getting some better skills and armor for my team, learning combining stuff a little more (five hundred recipes for backfat!), and I'll look around for quest boards in the first couple hubs. I didn't even know the pawn camp had a quest board! I figure I'll go into Witchwood for dipshit up there and the grimoire then trudge back to Gran Soren to buy that fop a place to live. And maybe if I've got the extra funds and I can still lean the quest in my favor, I'll buy the land from the old bald guy himself. Seems like that's the 'good' end to that quest. Is that possible at this point? I've got him to the "Maybe you could buy me a house for 30 grand, Arisen ser?" point. If I pay the 80K to the landowner, can I come out on top?

Does the metamorphosis item let you change your pawn's name or gender? I'm really tired of almost every pawn being female and using the same voice as mine. It doesn't help that I picked one of the most generic names ever that I see about 5 of every time I search. A friend of mine has his fighter pawn in the top 30 or so, and I think half of the reason is because hes a badass looking guy.

One of the more badass pawns I've seen in the Rift right now is someone's Cassius. He doesn't fit for my party, so I haven't used him, but when I see him I think, "That's a bad dude."

Does anyone know where to find a better Magic Archer bow? I seem to be doing significantly less damage as a magic archer than I was as a ranger ten levels lower. I've actually since found a longbow upgrade so I'd imagine the disparity would be even bigger now.
