I haven't really cared much for anything from Combichrist after The Joy of Gunz, and even that isn't really up to par with Ivardensphere or Memmaker IMHO. I didn't pay much attention to Combichrist outside of that one album. As for the whole discussion of what is or isn't industrial music...that never goes well...nobody ever agrees on that poo poo and I know of people who will say that anything that isn't Throbbing Gristle 1970's style stuff isn't industrial. I've reached a point where I don't even care what people categorize as industrial or electro or EBM or aggrotech or what-the-gently caress-ever.

I get that people have always been up-in-arms about which bands are industrial and which aren't. The issue is that "industrial" in it's own has never had a definitive definition. Personally, I lump NIN into industrial, but what of it? Hell, look at the first quote of the very first port of this thread. Industrial as a music genre has always been plagued by people arguing what is industrial and what isn't. Subjectively, when I'm at a club listening to some good tunes and I hear people disagreeing about what is and isn't industrial, I get the gently caress out of their vicinity and go back to dancing.

I know this is mostly an edm/electro industrial thread, but was wondering if anyone had recommendations for bands that were more of the machine rock type of industrial. The closest bands that have been mentioned are ones like kmfdm, NIN and a while back, Ohgr. These are probably my three favorite industrial bands that haven't been brought up in the thread. I listened to Gothsicles a little bit and actually liked them but they remind me more of some of the "Mindless self indulgence knockoffs" I've seen online like Retard-o-bot than Hansel. Maybe it's the nerdcore-ish videogame references everywhere, lol. I actually saw Birthday Massacre live (opened for Mindless self indulgence). I don't think anyone at the show really knew them, but the crowd still loved them. I'm stupefied that I haven't heard of Damage Manual and Refused before. Both amazing (at least the songs you linked) and I'm gonna end up buying their discographies, I know. Thanks for including the NIN remix, never heard it before but its got that perfect brand of NIN's aggressive sexiness.

Anyone know when Feindflug are going to come back? They're one of my all time favourite artists but they haven't released anything really new since 2005. Makes me really sad.  Why is it that Funker Vogt should stop but never do yet bands like Feindflug who should carry on forever just vanish.
