I didn't give gifts to anybody and my 'love interest' was Selene because I did 2 quests for her so she had the highest affinity. Unless giving her that herb to turn into ale counted as a gift. At first I thought that it was ALWAYS Selene and it was because she was significant in some way blah de blah she's some old woman's pawn and is turning human or something but then she jumped my character by the campfire :/

Yeah, gifts aren't the Only way to raise affinity. I swear I didn't give my love interest a single gift... I just made her very happy in her One quest.

You did the save Selene quest in Witchwood, that automatically maxes out her Affinity, making her your Love Interest, basically, whoever gets grabbed by the dragon is your love interest, so get giving those gifts to your fave character.

That's really weird then as I did both Selene's quest and Symone's escort duty quest and Symone was the one I got in the cutscenes, however I was surprised to see that Both of them were at my house. I hadn't been there since I saved Selene, so I'm guessing she was there the whole time and I just didn't know it.

Ugh.. I haven't gotten to all this 'love interest' crap yet, I've been doing side quests and dorking around maxing classes hoping I could ignore it entirely. Then I noticed the pink hilarious glow around the innkeeper... Is there any way to LOWER affinity so you can help weed out some of that? I only took the innkeeper to the hot springs and gave him a fish to see what it did (I thought nothing, I thought wrong.,) now he goes all moon-eyed every time I rest, it's kind of hilarious knowing I might end up in a 'situation' with what amounts to a long term creeper who's been watching me sleep, but in a lovely 'creeped out laughter' way. At least I don't have to worry about being paired with a little girl and risk having to explain THAT to my partner.

Are there more than one Drake in the world that I haven't found yet? Keep in mind I'm still doing jobs for the jobs from Aldous, on his second set now. I switched my pawn to Strider last night and now she's getting 4-star combat and helpfulness rating from people who use her, which is good. Really effective and powerful from all the warrior and fighter augments. However people are just 3-staring her appearance! She's a tall, dark lady with white short hair and the deep, hoarse voice (I think voice 2) options. You know, someone who looks like a professional soldier who commands people in battle. I guess I'll have to make a pigeon-toed, 12 year old girl pawn to get them 5-star ratings.

As a newbie character your best bet is to head to the encampment with Rook, do quests there until you create your own main pawn, hire a fourth member, grab all the notice board quests from the encampment, then head back to Cassardis and grab all the notice board quests there (excluding escort quests). Then look for and do side quests from the Cassardis civilians. You'll spend a bit of time doing those and you should have levelled up enough and earned enough gold to equip your party much better when you get to Gran Soren. Since you're already there, just grab all the non-escort quests from the inn's board and from the alehouse and pawn guild, then head back to Cassardis.

I love how so much of damage calculation is based on surface area facing the target. The assassin's land mine skill does ok damage to enemies that are standing up, but CRAZY damage to enemies that are lying directly over it. edit: both aesthetically and game-play wise the post-game in DD is the most apocalyptic thing I think I have ever played. I started messing with those AI potions on my own pawn and it made a world of difference, but I'm not sure who out there has done the same. I've rented some pawns that just don't fill their role properly because of how their AI is set up. My pawn is a lvl 60 healing mage if anybody is looking for that on 360. GT is Rabbit Holed. She's pretty wicked after redoing everything. She's always on top of healing, enchanting, buffing, picking up loot, and basically being a perfect personal assistant.
