I wonder if anyone outside of posters on whatever the wrestling subforums are called nowadays was aware of who was, haha. BYOB was a lot of fun but it did get a little bit petty at times. Around the time we had rotating moderators chosen from regular posters was when it started to get a bit frustrating for the admins, I suspect. Either the selected posters would be assholes once becoming moderators, or those that didn't become moderators would whinge about it. Still there was around 12 months there where it was a very enjoyable subforum, and very profitable for Lowtax. I wish it was still possible to view old BYOB threads with an archives account though. I think only the BYOB Goldmine survived, and I'm not even sure if that is still around. cmndstab has a new favorite as of 02:17 on May 26, 2012 |

I'm the person that bought so I can tell its backstory. It originated in the very first Mock Ctrl+Alt+Del thread in GBS. Someone found and posted a picture that Tim Buckley had made of himself in which he was standing buck naked with only a gaming console hiding his block and tackle. We decided that none of the other emoticons were sufficient to express the WTF, and thus :psyboom: was added.

I have no idea what this is. The tag just says PWM mascot. What is PWM? And what is it supposed to be? Why do we have this. Seriously. Why is called dominic? Where did come from? I love it and use it all the time but I'd like to know it's origin. Is really a sports thing? Why? I've only ever seen it used in reference to Pokemon. Then again I never read SAS. So. I always thought was a turtle facing away from the camera in a weird letter jacket or something, but apparently it's a League of Legends character.

Whenever you're amazed that someone blew a relative fortune on such a stupid emoticon, remember that emoticons used to cost a lot less, so it was saner to buy a whole series of related emotes like the phone ones. Of course, that doesn't excuse stuff that happened in the last year or two like the Mass Effect collection.

Actually qq originated from warcraft 2 or 3 where pressing ALT+qq would exit the game, so people used to to poo poo talk other players. "why don't you qq some more" or some such thing. This eventually turned into a pair of crying eyes since it looks like that and people who quit out of games when they are losing are also whiny

It was an ice hockey thing from a long time ago, I'm not sure on the details or if anyone still uses it for anything. Incidentally, here's the explanation for : Once upon a time in SAS, someone took a screencap of noted Steelers quarterback and rapist Ben Roethlisberger with his hands on his head that looked incredibly like . It became a meme and someone made a picture of psyduck in a Roethlisberger jersey. Then someone else made an emote-sized version and added a syringe for reasons I don't quite recall but were probably related to Roethlisberger crashing his motorcycle while not wearing a helmet. Then a third someone paid money to add to the forums. Vincent Van Goatse has a new favorite as of 09:28 on May 29, 2012 |

I assume it's more about the general malaise caused by standing around a pile of money on fire. It doesn't matter whose money it is, or why it's on fire; it's a pile of money on fire and that's cause enough for chagrin.
