How do I use the pawn personality potion to get Utilitarian primary medicant secondary for my mage pawn? Last time medicant just ended up overwriting utilitarian as the primary

I don't think it's possible. I've had mage pawn all game and it's never been an option once. I'm pretty sure you need potions, or mayhap having discussions with the pawn when they are a different class might work?

Basically you just have to keep reinforcing Utilitarian with more potions. I have a mage pawn set up as Utilitarian primary/Medicant secondary, and yeah after a while Medicant keeps taking over the primary slot for some reason. The potions are cheap and light though, so you can just keep a few spare Utilitarians on hand and check your pawn's profile every so often.

Ok thanks. Changed my pawn back to a mage, changed her gear too so that shes not completely covered in robes and she got hired twice, getting 35000 rift crystals from one attempt. I imagine the spell set probably appeals since shes pretty much a pure healer/buffer aside from High Ingle

But I remember the fella who told me. Big lad. Arms as thick as oak trees, a stunning collection of scars, nice eye patch. A REAL therapist he was. Er wait. Maybe it was rapist?

So has anyone not on the top 100 had success getting their pawn hired? No one seems to hire my warrior Sankis anymore and I need me some RC.

The easiest way is to use the neutraliser potion to reset the inclinations, then go from there.

Rocksteady(level 50 now, green male warrior with Scather/Pioneer) has been hired about 50 times and I've hovered around being ranked ~500 basically ever since I started this playthrough. With that said though, pretty much everyone on my friends list has pawns that I would hire if my party needed them and they were level appropriate, yet their rankings seem to be all over the place ranging from a couple of people in the 200's to some guys ranked in the thousands.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: don't try to understand the logic that goes into how often your pawn is hired. Make sure he has good equipment, the right skills/augments, and good affinities and just hope for the best. To give you an idea of just how random getting hired can be, my level 4 pawn that has the very first set of starter gear because I literally haven't done anything past the point of creating him has been rented out 15 times and is sitting on about 150k RC. Most of that is due to some guy who apparently hired him without realizing that you can hire other pawns your level for free and stuck with him for most of the game to give me like 80k RC and quest/monster/map knowledge of most of the game.

The same thing happened to me in that fight, it ended up just flying away. And then I realized that you're right outside the Pawn's Guild. I bet you can just go in and rehire them, but I didn't test it.

I just shot a cyclops in there and I am staring at a tiny room blocked by a "grille" as it's called on the map with a treasure chest (the nice, elaborate type) behind it.

Couple of questions.

When levelling up, do the stats boosts of a vocation matter that much? What I mean is, I think the Fighter class is more usefull than Warrior, will I gimp my Pawn by rolling back to Fighter?

How does the game scale in NG+? I've met the Duke and missed on a lot of quests already, so I was considering just starting anew, but I really, really like my Pawn right now.

That fight against the cockatrice is gigantic bullshit i you don't know its coming. On top of that, magic archers hunter bolts seem to do dick all damage to both griffons and cockatrices. I eventually was hiding behind a building and ducking out to fire a few opportunistic shots before the thing flew off.

Do magic archers different skills all have different elements tied to them?

Yup. Don't remember all the elements for them, but the standard magickal bow shot and Sixfold Shot are ice, Magickal Gleam is holy, Vortex Trail is dark, Explosive Rivet is fire, and I believe Hunter Bolt is lightning, though it may be holy.

For the Gryphon, you're best off using Explosive Rivet while it's in the air, Sunflare to activate the rivets, and then clinging onto it with Immolation active.

What's the recipe for petrification cures? Everybody says the cockatrice is ridiculous and I've only gotten something around 3 of the petrification cures over the course of the game so far.

Also, how do elemental weapons work? I've seen/found several weapons that have a permanent enchantment on them, but they do appear to have some physical damage on them. Can you still do some damage to things that resist that element through the physical damage, and can you use enchantments to overwrite the element temporarily? I'm getting a lot more use out of fire and holy enchantments but these things do the likes of ice and darkness damage, which would be nice here and there but not in most cases.

The stone-moss poultice cures petrification, right? The easiest way to make that is cloudwine and cragwort, I believe.

I just recently picked this up, and even though it has obvious problems I still really like it overall.

However recently I have encountered a pretty gamebreaking bug, the inn guy in gran soren is missing. I've tried restarting, reloading to checkpoint, but it doesn't seem to work.

I've also tried to Google it but it doesn't seem like this is a common bug.

Anyone else experienced this?

I have not read this entire thread, so this might have been asked already.

Explosive rivet as a magic archer is incredible. Just stack loads together on big enemies and watch the chain reaction. I had like 15 on a gryphon as it flew around before it landed blowing them all up knocking it over. Just pushed an cyclops off a cliff using it.

Getting to the great wall has been a bit of a trek. 2 cyclops', 2 chimeras, 1 gryphon and tons of bandits and dire wolves and its only just in sight now.

Edit: Either I've gone the wrong way or the female bandits are in the way. Do I just have to kill them all if I want through?

I did consider this, it just seemed kind of weird for such a vital NPC to just leave.

Story wise I have just started accepting quests from that guy inside the duke's place. And gotten 1 quest to kill a Chimera Griffin and 1 to convict some guy. I'm not sure if that answers your question, I tend to get confused about what quests are story related and what quests aren't.

It turns out that moldy carrots are worth much more than regular carrots. You can buy them in the starting town infintly, they turn moldy in 3 days, so 150g of inn rests. I went from 120000g to nearly double that on my first run. I would call it broken, but there isn't much to buy yet.

Elemental weapons can be overwritten with another element, my character had fire daggers for a while and my main pawn was able to enchant them with holy when I fought zombies in the catacombs.

Where do you even find cockatrices anyway? The only ones I've fought was during the one quest and one in the post-game.

I changed my pawn back to a Warrior since I've gone Strider. If anyone gives her a whirl on the PS3, let me know (Kirika, level 84). I gave her Arc of Deliverance for a change to see how well the AI uses it. She looks like Red Riding Hood if designed by Todd McFarlane.

I really wish they'd change "sour" and "moldy" to "aged" and "ripe" respectively. Everything is worth more before it rots. If you want big bucks go kill yourself a lot of oxen and take their steaks and then age them. 1.2k per steak right there.

Yeah, but the carrot trick is almost zero effort. Hire two big pawns, buy lots of carrots, rest 3 times, sell back at triple what you paid. Decent for early game at least.

I'd bet a dollar that you use "help" and stuff fairly regularly, still. My pawn hasn't shifted personality in several days, and I only use the D-Pad commands maybe 3 or 4 times in a night now.

This isn't a glitch or anything, the majority of consumable food stuff is more valuable when it's Sour/Moldy, and often heal more hps/stamina as well as combining into more powerful potions and stuff.

Sour beast-steaks are worth 1500g, for instance.

Has anyone used different status effect arrows? Do you have to constantly go into the menu to turn them on/off. I'm running a pretty lightweight assassin, so that would kind of suck. My assassin bow utility is plummeting in the post-game and it's either that or switch to shield.
