Yeah during the ending you basically have a bunch of choices, and I highly recommend people try both out to see the cutscenes (and get the achievements). Basically when given the option, the aggressive (for lack of a better word) one is the "correct" path that will keep the ending going, while the passive choice shows you an alternate ending before giving you a retry option. You get a much better sense of just what the gently caress happened during the end and what the whole dragon/arisen cycle is if you watch all the cutscenes. Plus they're pretty awesome so you should watch them anyway.

Frankosity posted:How useful do people generally find the Warrior's charge-up attacks? I'm not sure whether to focus my build with the respective Augments and have the Lash / Arc skills on or try something a bit more mobile / versatile. I settled on using Exodus Slash, Corona Slash, and Arc of Deliverance. Arc of Deliverance is hilarious vs large enemies, a full charge and a good meaty hit is sometimes several bubbles (~2-3 on Gorechimeras) of damage. Fully charged the blast also staggers enemies away from the impact which is kind of neat. Doing that much damage in a burst will also stagger or knock down most large enemies, which generally means you get another. If I land one on a Gorechimera, the fight is over. By the time it can stand up I've charged another and the cycle repeats. Exodus Slash is cool because it has invulnerability on the back-step swing, and the followup attack doesn't do much damage but it will knock down pretty much any smaller enemies. Corona Slash also seems to have some invulnerability but it's been hard to really test. It does a shitload of damage, hits everywhere around you, and takes the feet out of any smaller enemies in range and has the tendency to pull them towards you in a nice cluster for a followup. Vehemence and Clout seem to work the latter way. Naked at 407 STR with no augments, Vehemence and Clout put me at 537, it would be 529 as a combined 30%. Not a big difference but there you go. Samurai Sanders posted:Without having advanced movement options from the other melee classes, or a shield, that is easier said than done. And again what good is climbing if I can't actually use the blade of my sword on them? Sorry this is from a bit back, I'm guessing you've probably moved on from it but since I loving love Warrior in this game, some stuff I've found for others that might be struggling: That blunt bash climbing things still actually does fair damage despite how it looks. I'm not sure what kind of classes you were before it, but as a career Fighter/Warrior/sometimes Assassin for the bonus attack and stamina growth, Warrior has been a great giant killer for me. It takes only a few swipes of the climbing light attack to take a head off an Archydra. Controlled Fall is a really great skill (this applies to Fighters and I think Mystic Knights, too). I was confused about it for a long time thinking it was a safe fall thing when it's actually a fighting game style quick stand. If you get swiped by a Cyclops or some poo poo, hit A just as you hit the ground and you'll tumble and stand up instead of laying there. Passives I think Sinew is basically mandatory. The weight bonus extends the Very Light category directly and lets you stay at that or Light even with all that armor and big weapon, which is pretty vital to the already slow class. Other than that I personally like Clout (obvious), Ferocity (you will use your core skills a lot), and I like having Bastion. You should also be abusing jump attacks in any situation where you can't stand and swing. They do good damage and jumping light keeps you mobile and the jumping hard attack hits multiple times and has great stagger power. You can keep some enemies grounded and stun-locked by just repeating run up jumping heavy attack if there's nothing around to interrupt you. Also great vs spell casters, stagger stops the casting and the multiple hits will generally shred anything with that little armor. If you are in a position where you can stand and swing, almost always fall back on the X, pause, mash X combo. It keeps swinging in big horizontal arcs and is way easier to hit with than the basic mash X combo ending in the big vertical swing. The timing is a little weird, and note that you can not continue the combo if the first swing whiffs. You can cancel basic attacks into special skills. This is really good poo poo and applies to any class really, but I've found it especially useful for Warrior. If you are hacking away and something winds up an attack or more enemies arrive, you can cancel a swing into Exodus Slash for the invulnerability window or into Corona to get the jump on whatever is trying to sneak up on you. Sorry for but I loving love Warrior and will probably not bother to change classes now that I have all the augments from other classes I want.

Endgame stuff So I'm clinging to the Ur Dragon's spine, right on the weakspot, It was red, and had not yet turned the bone/dead color stabbing away, and nothing. His health doesn't even budge. I burned through 50 mushrooms to make sure, I stood there stabbing away, and nothing. How do you kill this guy?

Okay, thread, I'm pretty sure I'm ready to edit my characters-or, failing that, just restart-for the full Berserk experience. I'm obviously playing Guts, but I have two choices for my Mage pawn, and I can't tell which is better/worse. Schierke, another addition to the horde of tiny girls that threatens to drown the Rift in excess. At lease she'll be dressed like a sensible witch...green hair aside. Or... Puck, in his TRUE FORM as a fat, short, probably naked elf with a blue shock of hair, horribly annoying voice/personality/inclinations, and nothing but support spells. Which is more likely to be rented? Which would you rather see/never see ever?

TDD_Shizzy posted:Well taught my pawn a terrible thing, he now blows up every explosive barrel he finds.... Awesome. Push in your left L3 stick to change targeting type. When throwing affinities, it targets yourself. When launching some spells it either gives you a movable targeting orb or a directional reticule depending on the spell. Also, how the hell do you fight griffins? I already killed one that had a big dramatic questy showdown around it. I have seen a few others flying high overhead, but they're too high to hit with anything, and by the time I find a goblin or something to kill and throw its corpse down, the griffin is long gone and won't return. I want to harvest their body parts to upgrade my poo poo. If anyone finds the game getting too easy later on, I found a really great way to adjust the difficulty. Just don't hire a third and fourth pawn. Playing with just you and your autistic stalker against the world is pretty excellent, there's still an element of teamwork and complimentary styles but you don't have four dudes in god-plate weighing your enemy down and killing everything in a minute. Is the pawn rating system broken or something? I used to get comments and star ratings other than 3 but for the past week it's all been blank. Does that mean my pawn is dying before people can send her back? Not really complaining though, I've gotten 400K RC since yesterday.

You can definitely get 100 hours out of this game, I don't know what Cbouncerrun is talking about. You can get to the end playing normally in 30-40 hours, but there's postgame and NG+ to do, as well as just a ton of time wasters like going out just to dick around and fight random monsters. If you end up actually liking the game then you're not just going to run out of stuff to do after 50 hours or something.

I want to say it's the pawn dying, because I also get 3/3/3 and no gift, and the ones that do have gifts/ratings are typically 4s or 5s with a comment (my pawn is a well-dressed mage who has inclinations down, she's squishy so sometimes she dies but otherwise I think she handles buffs and stuff well). And I mean when someone gives you 30k or 40k RC at a time it probably means they used the pawn long enough that a 3/3/3 isn't warranted.
