There's only two levels of pawn chatter right? Babble on in a continuous stream, and only talk when something new appears, right?

I would love for their to be some check whenever a pawn opened it's mouth to see if another pawn had said the same thing within so many seconds. My first two hours with pawns was an incessant cacophany of different variations on "It ill-likes fire master!". It was so bad I turned voice down to 0; cutting out the dialogue boxes wasn't good enough. As a comedy option though, it would be funny to have mute pawns who could only communicate with flashcards and awkward motioning to the pictures.

likecnsnnts posted:Oh good. Ever since I switched to Ranger from Warrior I haven't been able to finish an escort so a large number of NPCs are currently dead. For some reason this is the complete opposite of my experience. When I use daggers, shortbows, or swords the escorts always get killed by standing right next to me as my style is kind of based around attacking every second possible and then rolling away just in time. But when I was a Ranger, which I'll probably go back to after finally getting this last Assassin rank, the escorts never took a hit since they just stood next to me while I gunned down everything.

I was thinking doing a hardcore run would be interesting (especially the 'how I died' descriptions ).. Maybe when I beat the normal game I'll try one. We could do rules like - Start from new game only Can only use other hard core running peoples pawns If a hired pawn dies you can't use them again

Just started playing, chose a mage as my beginning vocation. Is it just me or is magic kind of boring to use compared to other forms of combat? Warriors and striders felt really fun and fast paced judging from the demo's gameplay, but here I find myself just kind of spamming one or two spells over and over again and doing pitiful damage compared to my warrior pawn.

So this just happened. (Extremely minor post-game spoilers) The lion, goat, and snake were all dead, but it was still running around with about a bar and a half of health left.

Is there an issue with PSN/Capcom with me constantly having issues connecting to the online stuff, or is it me? I haven't touched my PS3 in a while and I've been struggling to keep my poo poo connected when I go to rest/log in, though most of the online mechanics seem to work anyway. Also, holy poo poo, this game is unforgiving if you try to march ahead too far.

I think had just realized that there was nothing there to attack with or something.

Ed Mungo posted:I am probably really dumb for not understanding how to do this, but how do you give more than one gift to send back wtih a pawn? I'm giving pretty lovely gifts right now because I select one thing then it moves on to the next step. You can only send one gift item back when you dismiss a pawn, but if you equip them with any gear before that (actually equip it, not just have them hold it) they consider that a gift and will take it with them when they go. I never know what to give anyone, so everyone just gets skulls from here on out. Everyone loves skulls.

Well, after a brief side trip into womanhood to get a few things dragonforged for my pawn, my guy is back to his old self. Here's a photo of the two of them standing around in the only place with half decent lighting left in the world: I'm happy because I finally struck a nice balance between functional and "doesn't look like a blind man dressed her" for my pawn. Everything she has on is dragonforged, too, except for the arm bands (my guy is wearing them at the moment).

Probably a dumb question, but can a Magic Archer cast Fire Boon then switch to Daggers and still have the enchantment?

I found one in the very last chest in the blighted manse om my 4th playthrough. Also some quests need you to do all the prerequisites if you've missed the final leg of them so that guide saying you don't need to do them is loving wrong and made me waste a couple of playthroughs. I pissed off Mason early on so chasing shadows was locked out but since I already did them I thought "well, gently caress it" but then Madeline doesn't open shop if you don't do it. Next playthrough I skipped escorting her in Cassardis and did the chasing shadows quest so she could open shop but lo and behold her final quest didn't trigger because I didn't loving escort her in the beginning. So in conclusion gently caress the quest system in this game.

Any pawn that belongs to your friend, or is your level or below, is free to rent.

Why doesn't the Ur-Dragon like to drop a short or magic bow? Every other type of weapon drops except for those. Or are bows not part of his loot table or something?

There's like 30 pieces of armor and like 15 more weapons in the game files, unused, with the glowing green icons that indicate DLC. This was the third DLC drop in as many weeks, and the first to not include something else along with the fetch quests. It's not ridiculous to assume it would have had something else.

Well, NG+ is going well. Getting Portcrystals in some pretty useful places, and I finally found the Witchwood. I was never going to find it, I thought it was up North somewhere, so it's a good thing there's a quest that sends you there. That Ranger bow skill that zooms in is great. I think it makes you able to hear longer distances as well, and there was a goblin that hadn't noticed me, wandering along and making silly noises. Goblins are excellent. I've found myself keeping a few of those gold weapons. I just have this image in my head of beating something silly with a big gold hammer, and I'm determined to at least have a go. Or a shortsword or daggers. Gonna get something Dragonforged I hope.

I was fighting some sort of drake in a big field during the post-game (seemed more powerful than a normal drake and said different things than the Devilfire Grove one). I had gotten onto its heart while it was down and was chopping the poo poo out of its health bars with Hundred Kisses, then noticed that my sorcerer pawn had been downed. He was a distance away but I didn't want to run all the way over there when I was busy doing damage. My mage pawn picked him up, carried him and put him down right next to me where I could easily revive him. For all the times this game's AI is baffling or frustrating, it manages to be absolutely loving brilliant sometimes.

The first shot everyone who plays this game should ever take Me and my pawn back when we hung out :3 He used to look cool and he still looks cool even if I did then throw him into Cassardis' ocean My happy family I do love this game a bit. Really hope they end up making some new areas and stuff.
