Now that I think about it, maybe it was Cruel Intentions 2. It was a long time ago. I recall the first half of the movie being about him trying to not fall back into his 'old ways'. It seemed like a normal school-based love story.

Not only that, she straight up tells him any way he wants it, the way she said it and his reaction pretty much implies anal.

It's been quite a while since I've seen it, but I just saw Princess show up on streaming. It's a Danish animated film about a man who begins taking care of his 5 year old niece and goes in search of revenge for those responsible for his sister's death. His sister was a famous porn star, so this takes him through the seedy underworld while he realizes how living around these people has affected his niece. The animation is punctuated with live action home movies of the characters. The "Feel Good" tag on Netflix is wildly inaccurate - I felt like I had been punched in the gut after watching it. Do not do what it seems a number of people on Netflix did and assume "Princess? Animated? Obviously for a 9 year old!"

I'm about halfway through this and god loving drat. :stare:

Jesus this is a hosed up movie. The first bath scene was horrifying. Really enjoyed it though. Surprised it didn't show up in the Revenge category Netflix has for me.

Question about the ending though who is that visiting the graves? Just some guy?

Having just watched Princess at the recommendation of this thread (and finding it both horrifying and haunting in a great way), I can answer this guy's question:

That was Charlie visiting the graves, I'm pretty sure. Looks like the same guy from earlier in the tapes. After all that, and Mia and August losing their lives, Charlie still lived.

So Videodrome. That certainly was a movie.

Honestly, I liked it. It was disturbing and gross in just the right way but I don't think I understood anything of what happened. Were they all hallucinations? Did his body really morph like that? What the hell did I watch?

I'll probably watch it in another day or two though see if I grasp it better.

If memory serves, after the first couple episodes she only shows up sporadically through the first season, until a major part of the finale. Then in the second season she's mostly out of it altogether. It's a really entertaining show, don't let one actor stop you from watching it.

I'm still not even sure if I want to bother watching The Rum Diary with how mediocre I heard it was. I loved Johnny Depp in his previous Thompson adaptation, but the difference there is that the source material was really good, Hunter was consulted during production, and Terry Gilliam directed. The Rum Diary, the book, is considered to be pretty mediocre/HST's worst work, Gilliam isn't directing and Thompson wasn't around to oversee it.

VV Oh! Well I didn't notice that. I loved Withnail and I so I'll have to give it a watch.

Part of me wants to have faith in it, since the director is Bruce Robinson who did (Withnail & I), which wasn't a Thompson work but had a very similar sort of Fear & Loathing tone; I'm also thinking that because of the Ralph Steadman art that he did for Withnail.

If the answer to those questions is ‘yes,’ Clint and Jared (and special guest Jeremy) have got quite a film for you this week – 2011′s Drive, starring Ryan Gosling and directed by Danish auteur Nicholas Winding Refn! This film costars Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman, and a bravuro turn against type from Albert Brooks. In Drive, the unnamed main character (played by Gosling) navigates the gritty criminal underworld of Los Angeles with nothing but his wits, a hammer, and what seems to be debilitating autism. Check out our review and drinking game here!

Drive is also available on Netflix streaming!

Best out of 71?
Well I watched the original Friday the 13th and for a movie that's about 30 years old, it's held up really well. There's just the right amount of tension so while the kills are predictable, the execution wasn't. The first kill, the backpacker girl, took me by complete surprise and even though I knew the ending, it still was pretty powerful. Overall, a great movie and way better than the lovely remake.

Given the recent passing of Richard Dawson, I thought I'd point out that fellow Match Game alum, the late Charles Nelson Reilly's one man show's movie, "The Life of Reilly," only has one week left as a streaming title. It's a really fascinating look into the life of an actor that didn't have to come out of the closet, because everyone knew already. The stories about his family life growing up are amazing and bittersweet. Check it out, I saw it in the theaters, watched it on instant, and now that's leaving I'm gonna get the blu-ray.

Tim And Eric's Billion Dollar Movie started streaming today. I'm not the biggest fan of the show, but I like what I've seen from it. The movie is, well, weird. When the guys want to go absurdist, it can be pretty funny. But there are stretches without much humor, and it often devolves to juvenile gross-out humor. (The Shrim scene or the penis piercing) It also tries to say something about the wasteful nature of lots of movies, but again, the point gets sidetracked by the gross-out jokes. I'd say it's still worth a watch if you like T&E's comedy stylings.

I thought the last 20 or so minutes of Billion Dollar Movie were absolutely hilarious, and the rest was just watchable in a competently-produced-trainwreck way. It's a hard movie to criticize for looking cheap and lazy since that's 95% of Tim and Eric's schtick, but there are moments when it doesn't feel intentionally lazy. It actually feels like Tim and Eric just didn't give a poo poo or weren't trying.

But I liked Ray Wise's cameo and the last 3rd or 4th of the movie, for what it's worth.

After walking out of that movie my girlfriend and I barely talked for about an hour and a half. It's supremely strange, not entirely enjoyable or unenjoyable, and I can't tell how often the jokes that don't work are designed not to work. I never got too into Tim and Eric outside of Tom Goes to the Mayor (which I loved) so while the style of humor was familiar to me I didn't quite "get" it all the time. I'd say it's worth watching, but I probably won't watch it again.
