Reminds me of the 5k+ I spent on OC after accidentally running over him w/ my truck in 2008. He was sleeping in the driveway, the sun was in my eyes when I drove in and I didn't see him. He was pretty messed up. The tire ran over his left shoulder and forced his leg off his scapula, so it basically wasn't attached to anything internally except nerves & blood vessels. Plus he had some broken ribs and a punctured lung. The emergency vet surgeon was a good guy. Said he would try re-attaching the leg by stitching the muscle back on the scapula and hopefully it would grow back on it's own (hopefully b/c he'd never done the procedure before). So OC had to wear a sling for a few weeks then stay confined to a cage for 2 months.   I couldn't help myself & had to let him out a few times, supervised of course. The first time I set him down on his favorite spot in the backyard where he happily nommed on some catnip.   He had a full recovery, aside from a little nerve damage in the leg, which gives him a slight limp. I still feel guilty as hell but I think he forgives me.

I was really, really tempted to put Nargle on the harness this morning and let her come inspect the mole I captured, but figured that being sniffed and then ignored by a nine pound dilute calico might be a little stressful for mr moley mole so i just let him go in a field those fuckers are ALL front claws

it was the cutest little thing too, i was flooding the top tunnel and getting a pretty good pool in the yard and all of a sudden he comes out crawlin around straight outta the dirt when i put him in the field he was fuckin gone subterranean outtahere in probably 10-15 seconds? MOLEFACTS: moles have good enough hearing that their primary dinner is earthworms that fall into their tunnels, they hear them and come thrash that poo poo

current cat status: I literally just cuddled with not just one but two different tiger cubs, one tiny baby not much bigger than a housecat and one around 50lbs. not even joking. totally snuggled a couple tigers tonight. it was rad as hell.
