I thought Lego didn't want to make "war" stuff specifically, not so much guns or combat (they obviously love combat at this point as that's where all their money is). Like they'd never make an accurate modern military tank, for example. I assume this is part not wanting to glorify real war and part not wanting to make light of real war.
Lego's policy regarding guns/war is extremely complicated. And it seems to keep changing. If in 1995 you had told me we would have Lego nazis, cannibals and pimps by 2012 I would probably have given you a weak child slap for being so stupid. There seem to be two sets of rules one for licensed and one for original themes. Obviously licensed stuff is willing to go far more violent and war like.

Last I heard, in unlicensed sets no wars or conflicts WW2 or later are allowed to be depicted. So theoretically we could have an awesome six year WW1 theme, but that seems highly unlikely (though I would buy it by the truckload). Interestingly they have shown they are very happy to release WW1 planes, but never minifig scale vehicles designed for play.

To conclude, Legos war policy is basically "we will make it as violent as we want, only when we want, only on our conditions. Do not ask or try to make sense of this".

Sounds about right. Star Wars / comic book stuff definitely breaks the "rules" of Lego in a lot of ways for the sake of profit, and I suppose I can't blame them for that. Lego WWII would make cash by the boatload I'm sure though, lots of "non Lego" people would be buying them I'm sure. Although I suppose they'd get a lot of poo poo if they made any Japanese sets with the traditional Lego skin color...

Apparently available at Lego stores today as well.

Edit: Jetcopter Assualt down to £20 at Amazon.co.uk. Man that set is ugly though. Despite trying to beef up my Alien Conquest stuff I don't think I'll bother. I did buy half a dozen ADU Jetpack guys on Bricklink though... my first briclink purchase as my decent to the dark side continues.

I think its a fake, Sherlock has already been done and the vampire lady / swamp beast are in the new Monster Hunters line.

I remember seeing some of these designs in some Lego designers portfolio, including lots of minifigs that are now in the CMF series. I can't for the life of me find it on a google search, but I am sure some other goon will know what I am talking about and provide a link.

The vampire lady might be semi-believable because it's different from the Monster Hunters vampire lady, but yeah, there's no way they'd put out an identical fishman.

Yeah, If I had any free pieces I'm sure I could make a better tree house, but I'm proud of his little bed and it gives the set some much needed dynamism and detail compared to the boring original build.

Well, aren't the Vampire and the Mummy from the Monster Hunters line the same as the CMs? I'm not saying it's veryly likely, but there's still hope for a Lego Hobo

Nope, they have different face and torso printing.

Looking at the Monster Fighters set the detail on the swamp creature is different but I still suspect if they were going to release one in the collectible minifigs line they would do more to differentiate it.

Judging by the current Monster Fighters sets being unreleased here, I'd say we'll be waiting longer for this, too. Also, I estimate it'll RRP for at least $250 here :australia:. Shipping from the US will most likely be about $30-40. I'll be seriously considering doing this.

edit: I used the Grand Emporium as a guideline, as it has a comparable parts count.

Selling it for more than the cost of importing it yourself is just rude. Let's do it.

I'm not in Vic, but will want two as well (for a friend's birthday). If shipping is all about weight, wouldn't a group buy work out to roughly the same price anyway? I'm all for this idea if it is feasible.
