Yes, it was. But I don't know that you're missing anything too terrible by not having it go there, you do get another quest that will take you to the same place.

Well the serious answer is despite the bizarre writing, it's a really fun quest. I totally love sneaking her out of there.

What's the fast way? I assume its the side paths that lead to a river/cyclops but from what I can tell that's either one way or instant death.

Take the side path that overlooks the Cyclops's spot, but follow the mountain path instead of jumping down to him. You can bypass the harpies, the boulder, and the winding path to the gate. You'll end up right after the gate and a minute or so (if you kill the goblins) from Gran Soren's fields.

If you run into bandits on the path, you're going the right way.

*sigh* The rift is a frustrating place sometimes... My pawn and I both roll with physical classes, so I'm usually in there looking for Mages/Sorcerers. And it's always the same process: First I have to dismiss about fifty half-naked, 13 year old girls before I can find a normal looking pawn. Then I have to sift through those to find ones with the abilities I actually want. Then the time comes when I find the perfect pawn, with an awesome spell combination, only to scroll over and see they're a Guardian. Then I have to start all over again. :(

I really need to add more goons.
So what is a good inclination combo for mages/sorcerers? I've been rolling with a challenger/scather from the beginning since I prefer for my pawn to flashfry mages and archers before going for the bigger targets.

For support mages, I think the best one is utilitarian/medicant and for Sorcerer it is challenger/scather

Speaking of that canyon, has anyone else tried to ride harpies up to the top? Only thing is, I'm not sure how to get back down afterward. Game needs a parachute.
You can slide down slopes to reduce damage by a great deal, and the mage's levitate + light attack can save your life. Also makes it easy to get between the ledges.

That's actually kinda redundant, it just changes the priority that they buff/heal. Utilitarians will buff first, then heal, while Mendicants will heal and then buff. When I still was rolling with a support mage as my main pawn I used Utilitarian/Scather. Right now my Fighter pawn is Mitigator/Nexus.

In the end, though, anything besides Guardian is good. gently caress Guardian.

Also is there a chest piece that goes along with the Assailant's Bracers/Striker's Greaves?

I want to try utilitarian as many warrior pawn's secondary inclination, but I can't seem to keep it that way, it always changes to scather really quickly. Her primary is pretty stable at challenger though.

I did a mistake pressing "I'll escort you" instead of "not now" to take the gardener to testify against Fournival, so I had to get rid of him... I throw him into the sea.

Some moments later, while I was planning the fastest route to the women bandits camp he shows up with little health and asks me: "Did you just try to get rid of me?".

I grab him and throw him again off the cliffs.

Beat it once, played about halfway through on NG+, re-started completely and am now approaching the halfway point again. So, for me at least, while I'm not as actively in love with it like I was with Dark Souls; it comes really close to having its hooks in me in much the same way.

That's all good news. I heard the combat system is really fun, which is a huge thing to me, considering most of this type of game sees me running around trying to kill anything that looks at me funny.

The assassin's parry move seems remarkably worthless. It doesn't seem to do anything when the attack connects; I take damage anyway on the rare times they actually hit me from the front, and half the time the attack's a fakeout.

e: Just got it, that's pretty precise timing needed.

The one where you jump on their back and slit their throat is pretty effective though. Doesn't really take much timing either. Just hit it, then if an enemy takes a swing at you, BAM. Necks everywhere.

Is this the path with a tree/log leaning across the path? With two little platforms you have to climb up at the end? My pawns always say "is there no easier way" when I take that route.

I am so lost when it comes to gear in this game. I just keep the same stuff on all the time. I find new stuff, try to buy new stuff, no real quality changes.

It needs way more loot.

I'm level 35 assassin and I have no idea what I should be using.

New gear is put on sale based on which story missions you have finished, what was the latest one?

What level are you? Using a bow with an Assassin is really secondary, you'll be doing a lot more melee with either your sword or daggers. When you level up with the assassin you get a ton of Strength so your attacks will be stronger.

The most powerful warrior attacks take literally multiple eternities before they hit, during which time you have to stand still and take hits.

edit: and hope the enemy doesn't decide to move. Also doesn't do poo poo against enemies that are invulnerable against ground-based attacks like golems and hydras.

Yep, that's what I did this time.

edit: if you give a forgery then the duke won't be able to open the chest in the treasury and give you you rewards, but if you're a sorcerer then the ring might be better than the rewards. Either way he won't suspect you, he'll just think that the ring is broken or something.

A dead one or a live one? If you're holding a live one like a human shield just tap the button instead of holding it. If it's dead already are you just too encumbered? Otherwise I'm not sure what might be going on.

The exp and money rewards are usually lower.

If you keep the ring you can sneak into the treasury at night while the guard is out taking a piss and steal the item from the chest if you want. :mmmhmm:

Haha, I wouldn't classify that way of holding them as a "human shield", since you are doing it so that your allies can attack them.

It would be funny if you could get enemies to attack them when you are holding them that way, but I don't think you can.
