I also grabbed a copy. That is an amazing looking package. Where did you take those photos? It's a great location for showing off pretty vinyl, that's for sure. :) I'll definitely swing by for a show if you guys ever work your way to Oregon.

Got my Conveyor album today. Goons can be wonderful people. Autographed, original page of album notes, clear vinyl, beautiful gatefold cover, lyrics booklet. This package has everything for something that's not an expensive special edition.

I'm kind of sad that a lot of people might never hear the earlier Sun Ray EP even if Conveyor does find some decent success. I think it's really beautiful.

Any Chicago goons know of good record stores? I'm going to Pitchfork Fest this Saturday and want to see if I can find some cool places to poke around.

For someone out of town, I'd go to Reckless Records, Gramophone Records, and Dave's Records; they're all off the Belmont Red line stop.

Lots of other options around town, just depends on the type of music you're looking for.

There's also the Reckless Records off the Blue Line near the Damen stop. I haven't been to the other one but I've heard people prefer this one. I find it to be pretty picked over.

Also off the Blue Line are Logan Hardware (my favorite shop) and Saki (new records, only a small used selection). Logan Hardware has a free to play Arcade Museum in the back!

I've still never been yet but people like Laurie's Planet of Sound a lot, which is off the Brown Line.

Ugh, I could have listened to this tonight but I stupidly had it shipped to my old billing address (parents house) instead of my office. I was looking forward to it making a lovely day at work a bit brighter.

Got a call while I was at work saying I got a record in the mail today. I was pretty excited, since I was waiting for the Conveyor record and the new Baroness album. Sadly, I had my joy dashed when I put on my slightly warped new Conveyor record and it turned out to be unplayable. Too bad, because it is loving gorgeous.

I know this isn't a recommendation station, but Heavy Cream - Super Treament is probably the best album of the summer so far. I picked up their record after seeing them put on a fantastic show. It's just 100% high energy music great for the car or grillin'.

My copy was damaged too. The box it was shipped in was bent in the middle along one of the edges and the record itself is warped bad. I emailed Paper Garden Records (hello at papergardenrecords dot com) and they said to send it back and they'll mail me out a new copy and reimburse me for the shipping, so definitely send them an e-mail.

My Vaya was alright. I always think those are just chance and really don't have much to do with the person you buy the product from anyway.

Mine actually does have a slight warp as well, but it's not enough to noticeably affect play. Some people have said I worry too much about record shipping in high heat, but the last Summer record I purchased was warped to unplayability(My Morning Jacket - Circuital).

I didn't like it on first listen (I didn't even make it all the way through) but it really grew on me the second time. I do think it peaks too early though and gets kinda boring towards the end, unlike POTPB (I think side D is the best side of POTPB). It's definitely worth the purchase though, I think.
