Thats really close to me. Sometimes the snow comes on quick and piles up, especially between highway lanes, but I've survived for the past decade with a fwd car and (sometimes) bald all-seasons. An Impreza or Evo with snows would be killer combos but its not necessary as long as you drive sensibly.

Halfway through, I went to fix us both a coke float.
By the time I got back, he'd gone insane.
Plus, he'd left the gate open and there was evil everywhere.

Always good to have a second set of prints on the gun.

Having a look around I will probably pick up a WRX. Thanks for the help.

Hey Kastein,

Thanks for helping me figure out what was wrong with my Jetta. The layering of duct tape, an aluminum can, duct tape, a hose clamp, and more duct tape actually held pretty well. I've got a new (used) hose on there now, and everything's working pretty well.

no problem, it was pure luck that I noticed that burst hose :haw:

Glad to hear that the tape/PBR can/hoseclamps/tape "modern composite material" held up well.

Hey any Boston area goons know a good paintless dent removal guy? My Mustang got tagged by some rear end in a top hat last weekend and left a tiny dent in the back quarter panel. It's not worth getting the panel repainted since it's really so small that you need to really look to find it but it's probably pretty easy work for a PDR guy.

So anyone know of someone who does good work?

Any website or specific guy? It seems as though dent wizard site is just some listing of PDR guys. PDR is one of those things that almost anyone can get involved in and I don't wanna deal with anyone who's just starting out on my car.

I called a guy last Friday and he was about as unprofessional as it gets. His website makes it sound like he's located in Newton and as soon as I'm on the phone he's trying to get me into Worchester. Before I haul over there.

So I got the engine out of my new used Forester on Saturday and then Ace and kastein came over a little later and tore it apart. Actually kastein took it apart while Ace and I watched and drank beer. If anyone hasn't seen it yet this is what the engine sounded like:

This bearing is so bad it became one with the crank

The one with copper showing on the bottom is almost normal compared to the one on top thats been pounded out the sides :psyduck:

I wonder how long the previous owners were driving it with a knock. Seems like a lot of damage for the maybe 5 minutes total that I ran it to move it around.

The best part is that that's two bearings shell halves.

They got hammered down so thin that they spun, and ended up spooning between the crankshaft and the conrod, about 80% overlapped.

My place is always open (and it's substantially less of a disaster now, and should be even better soon.) But it might be cool to switch things up a bit - I know Hillridge? suggested we have one at his hackerspace, and it sounds like they have some pretty awesome tools and stuff there. I want to head up that way at some point no matter where this happens.
