If you watch one video this year about Brick laying, make it this one.

Here's another one, very different style, but a pretty amazing outcome: Some dudes in Mexico build a brick roof and seemingly defy gravity.

And here's the channel of another bricklayer I've watched for bizarre amounts of time: http://www.youtube.com/user/robsonger1

I wonder what it is about bricklaying that makes it so soothing to watch. Before I found that channel there, I had no idea how much of an artform bricklaying is, I guess, and now I wanna learn it, too.

The Hiibel v. Nevada case, which took the legality of "stop and identify" to the Supreme Court, was a similar case of petty refusal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dFRrFvuGsc

The police are supposed to have a reason to stop and identify, but that reason can be as vague as "suspicious activity" or "looking for someone." They are also allowed to bluff, leaving you no way to know whether you face arrest or not.

If they stop you, bluffing or not, and you resist, you are always facing arrest. Whether or not that arrest would be found to be legal, constitutional, etc. doesn't matter, what matters is you in the back of a car on your way downtown. :(

It just depends on how you resist. Obviously, if you just jaywalked and the cops want to see your I.D. you're probably better off just showing it rather than giving them an excuse to tase you. It is possible to exercise your rights as long as you aren't committing any crimes; Like not showing I.D. at checkpoints. Watch out for all the :godwin:s

I've thought about this before but that video has just reminded me. I thought that jay walking was a joke from some films I watched when I was younger. It was only a little later that I realised that there is actually a law in the U.S (and Singapore according to wikipedia) which governs when to cross a street.

That is completely foreign to me. I'd be serving life in prison right now. Just yesterday on my way to a friends house I crossed three roads six times to get there and back and all were busy and without pedestrian crossings. If I'd been stopped by the police at any point I'd have pulled the biggest :psyduck: face, before complying of course, then running home to tell everyone that all crimes in my area must have been solved for police to bother with that.

I guess we're allowed to decide on our own safety and to stop, look and listen. We were taught that by a hedgehog by the way.

Jaywalking laws are almost never enforced though and tons of people will just cross the street any old way they please, it's incredibly rare to get stopped for it. It's just a way for them to stop you if they do see you creating an unsafe situation, obstructing traffic or just being a goddamn idiot.

Sounds sensible. I still prefer good old common sense. That is: person walks into road, gets hit by car, doesn't do it again. Or just as entertaining to watch: person acts stupid in traffic, gets punched in the face. It's a self regulating system which is my favourite kind. :D

Folding chairs don't break apart like that in real life, and if you hit someone with one hard enough to actually break it, they are going to be way worse off than anyone in that video was.

Also notice they conveniently fly backward after the first blow and are thrown into couches which tip over backward and absorb their momentum instead of crashing straight into the floor/walls.

And no one who isn't trained to fight is going to start a "brawl" with a perfectly placed kick to the midsection. That's not how real fights work.
