Every time I go to a Rifftrax movie showing I manage to rope one more friend into coming along. I'm going to have a small army at the theater a few years from now since everyone is always hooked. My one buddy still catches me with the "Be right there" line from Jack the Giant Killer and of course "Seize the bone"!

drat, won't be able to watch it tonight. Guess I have to wait until next year if the pace they release these on the site is any indication.

I dug my MoofWear shirt out of my closet for the Manos show tonight. It was either this or my "You Are Tearing Me Apart Lisa" shirt, but that one was dirty

There aren't as many people as I hoped for at the theater I'm watching the simulcast at. This is what I get for living north of Boston and not in Boston. Target audience is primarily in the city I guess. Oh well. Cannot wait for the show to start.

Well, it's official.Rifftrax on Twitter posted:The guys will be back in theaters Oct 25 for a hilarious NEW riff on BIRDEMIC! edit: The funny thing about Birdemic to me is that I can comfortably enjoy the first half of it, what with Solr Pnls and HANGING OUT! JUST HANGING OUT!, but once the Birdemic itself starts, it gets a lot harder for me to enjoy. Kinda weird. Ensign_Ricky fucked around with this message at 00:58 on Aug 17, 2012 |

Pretty packed here in NJ, and way too many neck beards.

Just got out of the theater. Place was packed with a wide range of folks. Riffing was great. Only issue I had was their pimping and promoting of the Manos sequel*, and not anything mentioning the restoration. *They had clips of it. Literally looks like something That Guy In The Glasses would do. Film quality included.

Lots of women and very few neckbeards. I guess ladies love Torgo. The pinterest joke brought the house down.

Just got out of it too. My theater was almost entirely full. It was loving hilarious. I was laughing throughout the entire thing. My favorite parts were "Here...here...here's Johnny!" and "I miss Michael Vick " from the dog. And the shorts were weird/funny as hell too. I loved all the Norman jokes they peppered throughout the actual movie. Can't wait for Birdemic live!

Comically enough, I left the theater to get a drink and the audience doubled in size by the time I returned. The audience also covered a wide array of people. I even overheard a family talking after the movie about how the entire family loves MST3K.

We had a guy trying to do the MST3K lines. Luckily his buddies shut him down. "Unarrise..."

"Does it?" My theater was about 90% full. The extras aren't that good this time. I was hoping for the shorts.

I was in the Lowell Showcase Cinemas, which was nearly at capacity, including the three bottom rows on the floor. It was an alright showing, a couple kneeslappers and the shorts were mostly fantastic, but nowhere near the level of Jack The Giant Killer. I think the thing I hate the most about Rifftrax Live events are the COMEDY KINGS who think that they can riff alongside Bill, Mike, and Kevin. There was some bearded jerkass behind me who, on top of making tons of super goony, loud, unfunny jokes, also absolutely HOOTED at anything the guys said. Even the Michael Vick joke, which everyone else groaned at.

Just got back from the RI show; I thought the place would be pretty empty, but it was almost full. What amazed me was the age range. There were teenagers and people in their late 70's. Seeing Manos on the big screen was surreal. It really highlighted the awkward blocking and long pauses. The riffs, of course, were great. "He's not exactly Liam Neeson in 'Taken', is he?" "These driving scenes make the scenes before of Torgo standing up look like a Jet Li movie."

I loved the riffing but some of my favorite parts were when the movie would just stay on something/someone 2 or 3 beats too long & nobody said anything- those always made me laugh pretty hard. Also this will be the second time I've gone to a Rifftrax thing, my dad asks the name of the movie, I tell him, and he says, "It's not porn, is it?"

Those were brilliant. I've seen the MST 3 or 4 times, but the total silence during the awkward pauses really made them stand out to make the movie funnier on its own.

Horrible, inexplicable editing and shot choices are fast becoming one of my favorite things about bad movies. For some reason it's just terribly funny to think of the guy in the booth pouring over a scene for hours going "Yes! Perfect! We'll show Torgo taking 30 seconds to stand up while nothing whatsoever happens! Brilliant!". Terrible actors are terrible in the moment. Bad editing is terrible is a deliberate and crafted way, which makes it so drat funny. I imagine the editor finishing his cut, pumping his fist and exclaiming, "Nailed it!".

Got back from a show, it was nearly full with the wide arrange of people. Favorite part was actually before the show proper with the parody of the old movie trivia/facts that they used to show before trailers before ads took over. Plus the white trash Twilight sketch, while barely tangential to the film, was great.

I almost hosed myself up. Usually when I buy tickets to one of these, I print my ticket out right away. This time I figured, hey, I've got two months, right? Well, when I got home, my power was out. I called the theater and was told I just had to bring the credit card I used to buy the ticket. One problem: I used Paypal and the receipt (which I had to print out at a friend's house) didn't have the Fandango confirmation number on it (and, when I checked out at Fandango's site, I did so as a guest). I was resigned to buying another ticket at the box office, but the manager got me Fandango's number and I was able to get the confirmation number. That'll teach me to go off my usual script! Also, thank you theater manager guy!
