GTA IV was fantastic, but I really missed the countryside from San Andreas so these pictures are everything I ever wanted.

III was only delayed a few weeks due to 9/11 IIRC.

It gave me hope that maybe they rethought their PC strategy.

I didn't think there would be much difference between 360 graphics and PC until I upgraded my PC and played GTAIV on there the first time, and now I can't stand it on the 360. I didn't even bother buying the episodes for the 360 because of this - just went straight to PC. I can't imagine what RDR would look like on PC, and I still put it on and play it once in a while just because I love that game so much.

Oh yeah, I'll be waiting till the games themselves are actually out, it's just a bit of an eye-opener after all these years of playing nearly everything maxed out to start seeing screenshots of games and realizing that my computer will probably struggle to play them even at low-to-mid settings.

The same reason everyone else puts out games at that time: to get Christmas sales. I don't have any stats for game sales, but look at how much console sales jump around that time:  It's pretty obvious why everyone wants to release their blockbuster games at that time.

If GTA V has a forest, I'm hoping Rockstar programs in a super rare bigfoot you can see. I still remember the rumours/endless "I saw bigfoot here's my super blurry photo of my SD TV screen to prove it" threads on the GameFAQs San Andreas boards. There was no bigfoot, of course, but goddamn those threads popped up endlessly for a few months. It was a perfect example of art imitating life. Those photos people presented were every bit as bad as the photos that actual bigfoot hunters produce.

Is it pretty much assumed that the screenshots we're seeing are from PC? I cant imagine the aging 360 and PS3 pulling that off. I ask because my only PC is a C2D laptop with an nVidia card, or a macbook air, neither of which are very good for modern gaming, so I plan to buy this for 360. If only it would look that good.

Even if they do not make a PC version those screenshots won't be from the console builds. They are at the very least from a custom version running on some kind of Frankenstein console/pc.
