The Goose Eggs send 1985 Lloyd Moseby to the Easy W's, instead of Abu Dhabi, for 1988 Glenn Davis.

Glenn Davis goes to AAA, and Tony Fernandez gets called up. Lineups to come!

As the Expansion Cup is now in full swing, it comes to my attention that there are just some teams that aren't looking so hot. Well, it's easy to give the teams who win in the Cup a little something extra in exchange for their first round draft pick, but it's a lot harder to fix a team that seems fundamentally broken with just three picks - especially since, let's face it, one of those three picks is going to suck.

Fortunately, I'm here to help. The team(1) that finishes the Expansion Cup with the worst record need only agree to tough it out for the next Super-League, and they will immediately be given Josh Gibson for nothing.

Should that team refuse this one simple requirement, this offer extends to the team with the second worst record, followed by the team with the third worst record should both teams refuse. Should all three teams refuse, then Josh Gibson will not be transfered to any team.

(1) Deal does not apply to Rated R Superstars or St. Paul Bearers

The Memento Mori Division was, for only time in the first four seasons of the Super-League, truly competitive for most of the season. The Skyhawks and Senadores were basically deadlocked for most of the season before the Skyhawks took their first step to becoming a dynasty by finally getting separation from the Senadores towards the end of the season. The Blind Men made it to third place entirely on the back of their pitching, as their impotent offense became the stuff of legends. Meanwhile, the Fighting Mongooses suffered injury after injury, becoming the only team in their division to be relegated.

The Vae Victis Division in Super-League I was a disaster. Out of the four teams, exactly zero managed to amass a winning record. Instead, the four fatally flawed teams lost, and lost a lot until the Switchblades, despite a terrible offense, somehow managed to win the division. The Juggernauts, starting a proud tradition of underachieving, ended up in second place, while the Unspecifieds had a neat gimmick, but not much else. The Mark Bellhorn Division featured the most competitive division race in the Super-League, as the Mooglies and Fillies battled for almost the entire season before the Mooglies faded late. The division also featured a tight race between the Crabs and Bangers to survive relegation even though, as it turned out, both teams were able to survive. A lot of that was due to the Sharks, who gave both teams many teams in the dying weeks of the season on their way to the worst record in Super-League history.

Motor City Bengals

For reasons that will soon become clear, I'm doing a last check to see if people are interested in any trades from the Bengals. Off limits are Verlander, Mantle, Ripken, Henke, and Boggs.

Yes, that means that Miguel Cabrera is up for discussion. There's a good Smoky Joe Wood... Doug Fister's been kicking butt too... Sweet Lou Whitaker *sob* is also available... As posted in the other thread, I'm running this like a pretend Super-Auction. Bids close in 23 hours, at 11 PM EST. I will check both threads.

New to this, so my offers may well be terrible. Apologies if so, it's not deliberate. Putting it in this thread since it doesn't seem fair to let the other one have all the activity.

Anyway, the Mathematicians offer:
'19 Wilbur Cooper and '97 Jeff Montgomery for Mickey Lolich
'99 Jim Mecir for Pat Dobson
'11 Jake Daubert, '97 Johnny Damon and '97 Kevin Appier for Miguel Cabrera.

Note that a successful bid on that last one would give me two Cabrera(s), which I think you'll agree is in itself worth something.

Long Relief: Frank Lary

: He'll be back. You can't get rid of a Terminator that easily.

: Considering who else we have in our bullpen right now, we might not have a choice but to bring a different Tom Henke in. Now we need to pull off a big deal to replace McManus and we're good to go. Probably.

Smasher Dynamo
Oct 16, 2008

Eternal Commissioner of the Super League. A new avatar. A new age, of the same old embittered Smasher that failed to escape the bonds of the SL, FM3, Johnny Hopp and Eri Yoshida "The Knuckle Princess". "The flames of Smasher's ire scorch the skies... Igniting St. Bellhorn's funeral pyre."
The Cultists-Goose Eggs "you know that Indian Bob Johnson isn't really a center fielder" trade is approved.

If I pretend to be Cthulhu no one will know I'm a baseball robot.
Okay I cannot put Johnson in Left now, so this is going to be annoying:

Luis Gonzalez gets pulled up to the bench
Riggs becomes my full time LF for 14 days.
Move Larry Walker to DH and Kiki Cuyler to RF for 7 days
Then move Kiki Culyer to DH and Larry Walker to RF for 7 days.

Then when Stan the Man is back from injury, move him to DH, Larry Walker to RF, Kiki to LF and put Riggs back on the bench.

Tom Henke Takes over as setup man, Phil Coke moves to short relief when he gets back from injury to take over from Valverde who is now dead sold.

Promote Frank Smith to 5th Starter

Idaho preemptively accepts this offer.

Verlander is untouchable. The Hiller bid is the only one that would work, along with Martinez.

I think you overvalue the poo poo of Monte Pearson, but OK. For now,

'86 Bobby Bonilla, '86 Tony Peña, '85 Cesar Cedeño, '02 Earl Moore and '86 John Smiley for Chief Bender

I could use another catcher. I could also use Wade Boggs, but apparently he's not on offer.

1937 Mel Harder and 1984 Harold Baines for Victor Martinez!

Sorry, the bid on Bender was outdated. I copied the wrong post as a basis for my updates. It's been updated now, and as such, that bid would be invalid. Moore and Smiley are in the Martinez bid.

Please help me understand how Vernon Wells is worth more than Baines?

It wasn't Baines that sunk the bid.
