Captain Disillusion uploaded a new video recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrZdkd4TmGs He doesn't upload often, but when he does they're great. He explains the methods behind a lot of hoax viral videos and how they are created. In this case, however, he explains how a video is actually real (for the most part) and debunks the debunkers. I feel like this guy doesn't get nearly enough love, as the quality of his stuff is always top notch and very educational, intentional cheesiness aside.

Since we're on the topic of odd simulators, the following is... - An answer to "Why would Japanese people want to play a train simulation" - A wonderful "lets play" of a Japanese train sim, by a person who's not that good at videogames - Translated and fan-subbed by people from SA who are really good at that stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sraO9fnQ39I You've likely seen the banner ads or other stuff for "Gamecenter CX", which is this. I just decided to catch a few starting about a month ago but I highly reccomend the whole series. The tagline of "Like top gear for videogames" is very apt, it's a fun show about videogames but the thing that will get you hooked is the host being a funny person who happens to be playing videogames. In long form I would describe the show as "A middle aged Japanese Comedian attempts to beat various SNES and NES games despite not being good at them. His production crew helps in various ways throughout and the main "challenge" of beating the game is broken up by other segments like visiting arcades or reminiscing about old weird NES controllers" They also just finished translating a 2 part (re: 2 hour) episode where he plays Battletoads. So there's that. I just particularly like this episode because I originally decided to watch it to figure out why and how the gently caress anyone plays a commuter train simulator....and after watching I really wish I had a copy.
