God-drat that music is awesome. I loving loved the Corporate Champ angle. I STILL mark out when Rock hugs Vince. It's also one of the biggest heel pops I've ever heard.

Why the gently caress did he post that to Youtube? When even the Batiri are saying it was some nasty poo poo you should really keep it off the internet.

All I could think about with that kickout is he knew the match was to go on, no matter what, and it would go on, no matter what. It's like when Jason Tucker broke his neck on a massive hit in the CFL (I quickly tried to look for it and didn't find it right away). The hit caused him to fumble the ball and despite suffering a near paralyzing injury and his instant unconsciousness, he - or his body on absolute autopilot - scrambled to recover the football. The man himself and his doctors say they have no idea how that happened, but it did. He recovered the ball in the ensuing flurry and after that created one of the scariest moments in professional sports I've ever seen. Seeing the impact and the training staffs working on him, I thought he might have died right there on the field. Turns out I was wrong, Tucker is now the receivers coach for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and is drat near perfectly healthy. But motherfuck was that a terrifying moment. Any way, in the spirit of the thread, have one of my favourite MMA videos of all time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGNLYy3_exc

So is that guy paralyzed now? Jesus. Tried looking him up but couldn't find anything on him. Edit: After going through the youtube comments: quote:From the guy filming the hard cam: " He has a cracked skull and spinal damage from it. Luckily there was an on-site medic who took control of the situation, and the EMTs had him on a backboard within minutes. He's looking at a 2-4 month recovery time"

This is exactly why MMA doesn't appeal to me at all. When I first heard about it way back when I was like "holy poo poo that's awesome" and now it's basically just Ultimate BJJ Championship. I'm sure on a more intricate level there are plenty of differences in styles, but it really doesn't seem that way at a casual glance. Speaking of, can someone re-post the video of that Canadian karate guy with the mullet that's like, an ironic highlight reel? I can't remember his name and that video was The Best.

Why would they use ineffective techniques in a fight? For entertainment? If only there were some form of sports entertainment where people used fighting styles that are pleasant to see but of no worth in a fight... Best of both worlds? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3oPyMDtWlY

Well, yeah, I guess the point is to use what's effective, but it's hardly MIXED martial arts when everyone ends up using the same martial art.

Not giving MMA fans poo poo, just different strokes.
