There are very few things I love in football more than a player attempting a minutely-detailed complex setpiece out of Roy of The Rovers that must have taken countless hours on the training-ground to get right. And then loving it up completely and looking like a total tit. I love it

You would think a professional team would know this already.

Of course the Finnish FA doesn't see anything wrong with this. They say the correct throw in didn't have any effect on the game (despite several players from FC Haka and even from HJK clearly reacting to it and moving towards it while the goal was scored) and therefore there will be no investigation and no follow up on the referees. The English FA still have a lot to learn about being corrupt fuckwits.

I can't see from there where the referee indicated the throw was to be taken from but if it was where the throw-in that led to the goal was taken from then yeah, the decision is actually correct and as the other ball being on the pitch wasn't interfering with play then it was right for the goal to be given, IMO. However it looked to me like that the ball crossed the line where the other throw-in was taken in which case it's a foul throw and no goal.

Yeah it's hard to tell based on that video, but from people who were at the match I understand the ball crossed over the line closer to the second (the further away, the "correct") throw in point. In either case I think it's a pretty hard sale to claim the second ball didn't interfere with play when numerous players were in fact playing it and reacting to it. Play to the whistle and all that, but I think in this case the game should've been halted when two balls were being actively played, the mess sorted out and one throw in taken.
