I'm going to be listening to the Sep 26th show from last week and Shuli really grew on me on the 24th and 25th. If he was actually not in the studio at all this week, I'd be pretty severely disappointed (unless they replace him)

Woah, as much as I felt for her, the female dj's voice (sorry, didn't recall the name) was grating to me, I can't IMAGINE how annoyed Howard was. You could tell he was really, really holding back his being repulsed and pissed off. If I ever turn into an overnight celebrity and catch anything that even remotely fucks with my throat and voice, I'm postponing and explaining why in bold freakin'letters Howard can read on his Ipad. Man, was he iffed. How does this woman not know that much about the dude? I've only been listening for two years and I'd know better. Sheesh. Oh and Dr Ruth, whoever the hell that is (not from the US, not familiar with her)... horrible, horrible guest. I mean I understand you're 120 and senile, but the constant interrupting and "Hovard! Vy don't you let me SPEAAK? Stop interrupting, Hovard! Rooobiiin?" and the incessant vin d'amour plugging... oh my God. I have nothing against Jewish people but I have a feeling Howie wouldn't have been so tolerant of her erratic and irritating behavior had she not been Israeli. And btw what's with all the Israel is alone in the world BS? If Israel doesn't have strong allies I don't know who does. Speaking of which, sometimes he says he's Jewish, sometimes half-Italian. How's he half-Italian? As far as I know, you have to be Jewish on the maternal line to be considered a jew. And yeah, the anti-Arabic thing is both annoying and surprising, seeing that he could give two shits about religion. Mostly an ethnic thing I s'pose... but even that shouldn't blind him to the fac that, especially in the case of Israel and Ghaza, there are two very valid sides to most stories. And I really hate when he goes into the bomb the whole middle-East diatribes, like those people were all Bin Ladens and Ahmidenijads. I was recently listening to some show they did back when the US invaded Irak and it got me so pissed off and disappointed I had to turn it off. Well, at least Howard now admitting it was an idiotic and unnecessary war and that the American people've been duped into it kind of makes up for that.

I haven't been a listener for a long time compared to some of you guys, so it's always hard to draw the line between where the bit ends and reality begins, or the other way around - trying to figure out how much is putting on for good radio and how much actually hurt feelings. I have to figure tens of years of abuse could pretty much jade Gary, so if I as a pretty attentive and discerning listener actually sense his feelings being hurt, it's gotta be brutal. Not that I don't agree with Howard's pointers on his show - I only watched the vinyl quality episode, and yes, it really felt stiff and soul-less. Then again it's a tech show. Then again, I wonder what kind of paper Gary's making for those 8 minutes. Maybe more than I do in a year. And all the harping someone seems ok with me all of a sudden. loving Gary.

There's no way he's making above 20 grand to do those Nerdist videos. TV actors make poo poo (As I learned when I found out they were several of my neighbors), so there's no way the host of a Chris Hardwick branded webshow is pulling in anything substantial.
