The guy says it's pushing 14psi which is pretty much peanuts, though I somehow doubt the engines internals would be very happy with mountains of boost. Lord knows if I was building a car to look at I wouldn't toss a ton of money at the internals.

After watching a bunch of dashcam videos, I have come to 3 conclusions... Russian drivers are loving crazy. Chinese drivers are loving crazy (particularly those on 2 wheels). Russian cars burst into flames if you so much as sneeze in their direction. Also, I really want a dashcam now. One that doesn't require me to use my phone (as most dashcam apps rape and pillage my phone battery).

Throatwarbler pointed to some setups on Dealextreme that were $200 or so for a mount and continuously rotating video. I was definitely tempted.

Crustashio posted:This is amazing: It's really strange when one of the videos making the rounds was made by one of your friends. That's not the first $600 Subaru Brianne has purchased, and its lifespan is probably measured in days, if it's not dead already. She absolutely consumes cars. Tons of fun to hang around with, though. She's awesome.

Lord knows if I was building a car to look at I wouldn't toss a ton of money at the internals. I'm amazed it even runs, let alone can pull a holeshot like the guy did as he was parking it. Rick Dobbertin built a compound boosted/nitrous equipped Pontiac J2000 back in the day that I don't think even had a rotating assembly inside, and the rear was solid mounted to the frame with no suspension. It won many awards like that, and even I draw the line there. You might build a show car, but it should be able to run on its own power, even if you trailer it everywhere.

I'll give you that it sounds incredible, but since we already know quite a bit about the new NSX, it's safe to say that pretty much nothing from the HSV-010 is going to end up in the NSX.

It was originally designed to be the NSX successor, in an FR layout for Super GT reasons iirc. It got canned before production prototypes ever saw the light of day, though, so all we ever saw was the racecar version.
