Maybe it's just down to whoever produces it for the UK market, but I tried it when it first came out, and then I've had to have someone else's a couple of times when I've run out of my own, and every time the same result. It just tastes like an agglomeration of things that aren't food, whereas with Lucozade it's at least like the guy who mixed it up ate some fruit once.

Is gatorade fairly knew in the uk? I remember you saying you had "tried it once" which sounded odd considering it has been a staple in america for as long as I can remember and is sold in every store that has drinks

It's quite amusing when you consider that this is the combined marketing forces of Coke and Pepsi we're talking about. It's basically the same problem that Powerade has in the USA; Gatorade is such a gigantic gorilla, and it had so much lead time to set itself up comfortably and get settled in, that no matter how hard they push, the gorilla isn't going anywhere that it doesn't want to. Over here, Lucozade is the gorilla and always will be as long as every time a Premier League player goes down injured, on come the Lucozade bottles.

You're just trying to get rehydrated as quickly as possible so you can get back on the field. I'm sure if you requested a different flavor, you'd be able to get it, but if you're a professional athlete you're probably numb to the taste of Gatorade by the time you're in your mid-20's.

I haven't really settled on any team to support in the NFL yet. I must admit I have a mancrush on RG3, and he seems like a really likable guy. However the rest of the Redskins I don't have much to say about them, other than they aren't really much good probably. Not sure how smart it is to cheer for a team based purely on the QB? And I've read that the Redskins have a really bad arena, bad fans, bad coaches .. How much of this is true? Will supporting the Redskins make me have a bad time watching football? I was thinking about the Pats but to be honest I don't want to be a bandwagon fan.

The Skins are in a weird place right now where it might be exactly the right time to start cheering for them. They've been bad for about the last 2 decades without much in the way of hope, but if you're going to choose a team to support based on one position QB is the correct position to use. If you're a history buff they were very good to excellent in the 80s and early 90s, but that doesn't do much now. The fans and coaches are more or less fine, people love to complain about coaches but Shanahan is ok (he's certainly not the worst out there). The name Redskins is also ridiculously racist, but that's more of an aside. The real problem is ownership, Dan Snyder is amazingly terrible for many reasons which we can expand on if you're curious. But in the end as far as enjoying the game this could be the perfect time to start following them. It's also possible RG3 gets hurt or doesn't pan out and the franchise continues to be awful for another decade or so.
