when i was a childe, my cat would sometimes find a rabbit nest in the woods. when it did, it would bring back the babies one at a time over the course of several days and spend hours playing with each one, tossing it in the air, clawing it, ripping it apart, etc, all while they would make this baleful "eeeh- eeeh- eeeh" sound.

my neighbors growing up had a cat they'd let outside and never watch and i'd always see it trying to stalk rabbits and birds (and i'd chase it) until the neighborhood flock of crows beat the poo poo out of it when it tried hunting for birds near the bird feeder in my family's backyard.
