I was looking on youtube for some background on this whole Jamie Carragher thing, and found this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYugtchP040 Which is awesome, but how is that a penalty also in the related videos was this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RIbPfWMNJc which reminds me of that one old Man U video of a full back playing a long throughball to himself through a defense trying to offside trap, I can't remember enough to find it though. No, I get that, I just mean that how was the penalty drawn? The player who it's called for goes down by himself, no contact with anyone. Or is that what you're saying, that the penalty is called simply for that reason? e: I just re-watched it and I think I get it now. I see the ref giving the thumbs up.

Yeah, I'd imagine it was just given so Carra can score a goal.

You say that in a world where Peter Schmeichel exists? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVmt35152Qk It's a trip from Copenhagen to Manchester to Appalachia to London in a single sentence! (Was originally gonna say this about Jan Molby but I can't find any interviews with him from his playing days and his accent now is just pure scouse. I wonder what it is about Danish people (and Icelandic people too for some reason) that makes them so receptive to picking up British regional accents?)

Hamann is like 80% English now. I know he's a big fan of cricket as well. Szczesny has a weird half-Polish, half-mockney accent.

We learn English from an early enough age and are beaten over the head with the fact that our country is small and meaningless so we have a lot to "build on" so to speak.

I thought it was Jason McAteer doing co commentary on a Liverpool UEFA Cup game a couple of years ago, when it was really Jan Molby.
