Hoops posted:A camera attached to a player would be pretty interesting. Couldn't be a pov or anything but attach it to the front of their shirt or something. Surely we have the technology to be able to put a decent camera into a headband or something. That'd be bad rear end.

Probably but then the player heads a ball and it gets skewed and you're looking at the sky until half time

Panic! At The Tesco posted:Surely we have the technology to be able to put a decent camera into a headband or something. That'd be bad rear end. We do have the technology, except the imaging chip still needs a lens over it and a pcb behind it. So you would basically have a small rock tied to your forehead that would probably punch through the skin if you headed the ball, or had it kicked into you from a free kick etc. You would really have to install it onto a hard shell helmet (like a hockey helmet) to have it be safe for the wearer. Same thing with a boot cam really. You would have to find a spot on the boot that would not get stepped on or kicked from the ball. Maybe a shinguard cam. That could work. They would have to wear sometime bigger than those paper thin guards they use these days, what's the deal with those? How do they protect anything? They look like you'd be better off wearing a second pair of fuzzy socks.
