So, what is this big buildup to Vriska and Meenah meeting up? is it just due to their personalities? to me.

Zeruel posted:So, what is this big buildup to Vriska and Meenah meeting up? is it just due to their personalities? to me. As mentioned in the comic itself, they're both basically the two trolls with the biggest and most aggressive personalities, the big antiheroes of their respective sessions. With Meenah rapidly gaining popularity, they're also probably two of the big controversial names in the fandom now at that. So in a sense this could almost be a bit of a "big deal" for the comic like the supposed eventual meetup of John and Karkat. Except John and Karkat would be much, much less liable to potentially get into an argument and try to double-kill each other. (Of course, the way Hussie's teasing it, it could just end up being incredibly benign and possibly a huge let-down, which would be amusing in itself.)

|
# ? Oct 30, 2012 05:10 |
Bad news guys. Looks like the building that holds the servers that MSPA is on is experiencing severe flooding from Sandy. They're on backup power and there's only 5-7 hours left before customer loads may be lost. ...Does anyone know what this may mean for the comic? Source 1 Source 2

There is apparently "significant flooding at the building that hosts the MSPA server," so I suspect we won't be getting updates for some time.

Last year, there was a snowstorm or something that caused Intermission 2 to be delayed past Halloween. Lord English has clearly forever cursed Homestuck's Halloweens, the fiend.

I was wondering about that. I hope everyone has their emergency backup shipping grids ready! I am looking forward to how Jade and John react when he wakes up, and the eventual revel of what really happened to Davesprite. I'm still worried that he's actually dead. Hell, it'd be interesting if he showed up in the bubble with them.

While we're waiting for the update, have you guys heard of HomestuckColab? They're a group of people trying to voice act the entirety of Homestuck. I bring them up because while the main attraction isn't that great, their rendition of Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff is kinda magical. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8u7NBTWGQ4 ..

I am intensely disappointed that no lines were sounded out backwards then played back in reverse (like so). Or maybe some lines were but I'm not watching more than two of these at a time / ever.

I dunno, it feels like it's trying too hard. The ironic magic of Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff is that it looks deceptively like a lovely artist did it, but it really isn't by a lovely artist (because you have to actually work to make it that bad). The Youtube is bordering on "wacky cheese lol" territory. To do it right you'd have to have good VAs with professional setups doing deliberately lovely voice acting, and then, for the video, do a lovely webcam (or cameraphone) of printed out sheets of paper rendered as low quality 320x240 MPEG-1 video upscaled back to 640x480. Oh, and you'd have those crappy white Arial on blue-background bumpers every lovely Youtube video seems to have. None of this "I'm going to randomly use all the effects I can do in Audacity" on the video stuff. EDIT: And the theme music wouldn't be Mario. It would be Crazy Bus. Duh. Several times watching it I thought to myself that they were going overboard and it was annoying me, Then I realized how much better that made it. Irony is simultaneously a fine and extremely blurry line.
