It's Maelstrom, back after getting shitcanned by all their suppliers for having a loving rubbish business model that led to them going bust.

I thought the website looked familiar! I told all the guys I play with to not order from them, I doubt they would anyway because no 40K - but most of the stuff on their site is out of stock anyway.

The place I work for sells to hundreds of small shops around the UK, and there's a place that used to be just a mile from us that didn't pay their bills, 'went out of business' and then re-opened with the same name only to close again about a year later.

Start small with either battle box or 15 point games with mainly jacks or beasts. Understanding how a warcaster/warlock's battle group functions is pretty key. I played an online game using vassal a few weeks ago with someone from the warmachine steam goon group and had fun, so I would encourage you to check that out if you dont want to leave home to try a game.

I know they owe the DZC guys 10 grand, no idea if they've seen it.

In corporate terms, I am guessing they formed a new company using savings/loans, approached the administrators and bought all the assets of the old company. This may be possible as the stock would belong to Maelstrom, even if they have not paid for it.

They then carry on as usual.

The money they spend goes into the pot to be split up following usual insolvency rules. This is poo poo for NZ because they are probably one among many creditors, including the government for tax £££. After the incredibly high fees charged by the administrators and after other creditors have their cut, they will be lucky to see £100.

Moral of the story, never, ever, ever trade with these bastards. They have done this once, it is likely that many of their suppliers will see through this and refuse to trade with them. With no sales, they will go under.

Mango, email them and ask them to refund you/send you some items as good will. If they are a new company, they should not owe you anything, but if they are human beings they will see the benefit of goodwill. That and, at present, you can post a massive amount of crap you can post about them, loudly, all over the internet. Ask for a gift cert or stock, I doubt they have much £ lying around. Be careful not to tread into blackmail territory.

This is why I am hesitant to order online. I have not had bad experiences, but that was some time ago. With the current economic climate and GW policy, I do not know how many will stay in business.

This is problematic because I want Dark Vengeance and lots of Chaos. Lots of Chaos.

The phone thing is weird as the new store has the exact same number as Maelstrom. Also, Maelstrom were only ever good if you were lucky with what you ordered. Their stock system is a shambles, and was never going to end well.

When I got home I looked up the rule because I wanted to be sure I could move completely across the table in the first turn - which would be awesome! Unfortunately, it looks like Turbo-boost is only for Bikes and Jetbikes (p 45). Skimmers can move up to 18" going Flat Out in their movement phase (p 83). The summary section, p 152, backs this up, saying the maximum move distance for Fast Skimmers is 18", and for Eldar Jetbikes is 36". Only Bikes and Jetbikes are listed as having Turbo-boost. Sorry :smith: I hope this doesn't wreck your DE strategties.

I've seen the mace head thing done a bunch of times and I've always liked it, plus I wanted to make him look different from other DV chosen mace guys. The helmet wasn't that hard; I just cut the front of the dude's head off, trimmed the hand off the helmet, and glued them together with a little Liquid Green Stuff to fill the join.

It was said once but just to be sure I clarify some things.

Smash attacks make all attacks AP2. Furthermore you can chooose to half your base attack profile to double your strength and to gain re-rolls on armor pen. You round up if you are left with half attacks and you add 2CCW and charging bonuses after halfing.

The problem is it's a pricy weapon for an already pricy model, but man, it will scare the poo poo out of people which might be worth it if you want a murderous CC unit.

Sorry about that - Flat Out isn't in the index, so I had to flip through the vehicles section (it's on p 73 for anyone paying attention). OK - so to clarify I have been playing the movement wrong (moving up to 18") and I can move 12"+18".

It doesn't help clear anything up by having the game summary at the back of the book say clearly that Eldar Jetbikes can move a maximum of 36" and Fast Skimmers can only move 18" maximum - it should be 30".

I love it. I wanted to do something similar with that guys helmet but was too nervous about loving it up. The blowing in two different directions thing isn't an issue, they're always going on about the "winds of chaos" that cause things to flutter and blow in random directions even in NO wind. Speaking of conversions, I have a metal model of Abaddon that has Kharn's head on it for some reason. Can any suggest a head from a bitz site that will look similar to the original?

Also, are there any sites with decent scenario rules to use? All I can think of is a King of the Hill style thing but there must be much more out there.
