gently caress that. Get a much longer one, with an oblong red piece of plastic on the end that droops and sways. Get a big controller for R/C cars, just to mess with people's heads. If any real car could get mistaken for R/C, it's that AMG.

Yeah it's pretty crazy how much space cars of the future can have with no ICE. You've got that small trunk in the front, all that space in the back. Just look at this thing:

What I want is an option to get rid of the hood and stick an open air seat up there for some really exciting rides.

There's no PRDNL display in the dash, but I don't know whether that's mandatory or not.

I hope it's a 5-speed considering how slow a 4-speed would be.

Mercedes puts maximum speed per gear markers on the speedometer (see ./../... dots at 32/52/90mph). Looks like it's a 4 speed, so automatic.

VV Not saying 4 speed manuals don't exist, they just weren't imported to the US market.

My parents' 190D was a 2.0 8v NA diesel with a 4-speed manual. It was absolutely glacial.

I got a new car Saturday. It's not flashy or old or awesome, but it is economical and it made me realize how much I missed small cars. Went from an XTerra to this.

The pic isn't MY car, but same color/wheels. 2012 Civic EX-L.

I was thinking of treating it like the first owner did to a civic I had when I was younger, purple tint (with bubbles) and a speakerbox.

But seriously, I am getting the windows tinted and having XM put in and thinking about a small subwoofer to round out the sound.

Nice car, dude. I love the ex-l trim in the civic. I looked at a used accord in that trim but it was entirely too big for me.

If you shopped around before buying this car, did you get to hear* about how terrible the 2012 Civics are and how they got a "do not buy" from Consumer Reports? I eventually got a 2011 Fit, but goddamn every other dealership sang that song to me if they heard me say Civic.

Yeah it's an auto. As far as I know that was the only way you could get them in North America. I love driving it, it just floats down the road, and it's got ok go when its in boost, but it goes nowhere until 2500rpm when the turbo kicks in.

I shopped around, but not at dealerships :) I always liked my old Civic and I drove my parents Civic Hybrid a few times. I know they hadn't gotten bad. I just didn't really care for anything else in that price range.

I could've gotten a better car, but I've got to worry about fixing up my house instead of worrying about a car that looks nice in a garage that needs fixing.

Looks like it, I had to GIS to see if it was in our W210 and it looks like not. I suspect it probably went away once they decided to capitalize on economies of scale by using a common speedo whenever possible, rather than having to swap it out for each engine/transmission/final drive combo.

Spoiler, leather/CF interior, active air ride, traction control and 21" wheels. Not sure about the drive inverter.

I was super impressed after seeing the Jay Leno segment. Eeenmachine, you definitely need to start a thread when you get it.

Interesting...so the battery pack size is effectively how electric cars measure power? I had no idea; I thought it just affected the range.

Pretty sure it just has a slightly more powerful motor.

Unfortunately I got stuck with a standard model with all the options except the performance motor since I don't want leather. Best part is the projected ship date is Dec 2013 :(

Just hoping I survive another year barreling around in the Roadster.

Nice find, unfortunately (or not?) for 2013 they got rid of the regular wagon and "Outbackified" it a bit, if you could call it that, and renamed it the Allroad, without the trick suspension of the original one though.
