That was the impression I got too and it seemed to be DDP's reaction. I've never seen addiction up close, but it seemed like Jake was grabbing onto a momentary happy thought to convince himself he's turning around. I doubt it means much until he's back down again and can still say "no more". That's why everyone should periodically tweet Jake, "soup spoon".

Austin vs. Jake Roberts at King of the Ring. Includes Brian Pillman promo. I'm surprised they didn't have Jake Roberts win the KotR. During the whole tournament, they kept stressing him trying to overcome his demons and the fact that he had never won any titles in the WWF before. They even added more roadblocks for him to conquer with the post-match attack by Vader earlier in the PPV.

If you get a chance, pause the video when they're showing the classroom and the bathroom when Punk talks to Cabana about the 5th grade, there's some funny stuff on the chalkboard (Steiner's Theory of winning explained), and some funny grafitti on the bathroom wall ("Iran is Number 1, Russia is number 2, I just made number 2").

But yeah, as with all WCW cruiserweight matches, mute the commentary because they really like burying the luchas.
