Please excuse the lack of a pic but I remember owning the Planet of the symbiotes trade a few years back and being horrified by some of the art in it- ditto for Carnage Unleashed. Does anyone remember who drew those comics?

Baron Bifford posted:Is Hawkeye a macho chauvinist dick that deserves this ridicule? I think he's just easy to turn into a Meme, maybe? There was some sort of "Hawkeye's so Poor ___" thing going on Twitter several months ago, I think. Maybe because he's the male equivalent to the female superheroes who are the victim of that sort of drawing: Normal-looking and non-exotic-powered. Plus, he's one of the less muscled superheroes.

I understand cheesecake and sexy poses are part of the industry, but when even simple, nonsexy scenes have butts and boobs stuck in them because heaven forbid we have a panel without boobs, well. Or if you stuck a guy in the same pose, it just looks absurd. I loved the series they did where guys attempted poses that female models had and it looked so /goofy/.

The problem is that if it was Spider-Man, no one would bat an eye with half or more of the poses.

Jesus, I explained why Hawkeye a few posts back, it's because the artist who started this thing draws Hawkeye a lot anyway because Jeremy Renner. She posted this and a lot of people did it. It isn't to ridicule Hawkeye, it's to ridicule those poses.

The Hawkeye thing is probably worthy of its own thread, yo. But speaking of detailed art of thighs and butts... Work those glutes and hams! A rare time when the guy has a better butt than the woman: Hey, wait, this pose looks familiar... Maybe whoever said Spiderman does the same contorted poses has a point. And some DC for balance. Pfft, Hal, are you even trying? You aren't even close to Spidey's level. So clearly this proves the REAL exploition here...it's DC, they clearly aren't showing off enough male bodies and butts in ridiculous poses. As I said before, it's hard to avoid butt shots with characters who leap around a lot or fly but do not have capes to obscure their posteriors. Though with Hal it's a little more disturbing because the green part of his uniform looks like a bathing suit.quote:
